Marvel recommendations? With discretion.
Most of my current comic budget goes to Image, Dark Horse, and Vertigo, but I'm looking to start catching up on exceptional runs in Marvel titles. Currently, I read Fraction's Hawkeye, Aaron's Thor: God of Thunder, and Spencer's Superior Foes of Spider-Man. I bought the first collected edition of Mark Waid's Daredevil (2011), enjoyed it enormously, and am now awaiting the other two volumes.
The catch: About a year ago, I took advantage of Marvel's #1 promotion on Comixology during their first wave of launches for Marvel NOW! and read many first issues to several series, including titles by authors (like Hickman and Remender) that I sometimes adore, but wasn't impressed by any of them really. These include: Avengers, Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man, Deadpool, Thanos Rising, Iron Man, and X-Men Legacy.
Please recommend some (relatively finite) runs on Marvel series that you think I should try. Also, I've been intrigued by Charles Soule's She-Hulk, but haven't yet tried it. Should I?
Returning to MARVEL. What should I be reading?
Most my life I'd been a a MARVEL guy. New 52 gave me a chance to jump ship and follow stories head-on with DC for the first time. I had been away from comics in general for a while.
I'm reading Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and Justice League.
For some time, I've considered jumping back into MARVEL and choosing a few books to follow regularly. Spider-Man is an easy choice (although whether I'll backlog and read all Superior first is another thread discussion I started altogether). As for what else, I need some advice. What's really good right now. What's going to not be too much money/trouble to jump into?
THANKS!
