They've never really thrown down in continuity. The Priest thing was mostly a fake-out, with Stark having been revealed to have taken a hint from a politician Panther manipulated to play-act at being his enemy. A Panther from the future did beat a mind-controlled alternate Iron Man, but, well, key words there being future and mind control and alternate.
I think pretty much all of Starks losses to T'Challa are protected losses to one degree or another. That said, they all pretty much were still loses. For whatever reason, T'Challa sort of owns TOny physically or verbally. I never think the intent is ever to make Tony look bad ... but there is somewhat of a cumulative effect starting to build up here.

Hero vs hero fights have asterix
Ebony blade, a plot-device that wasn't created by T'Challa. There's always huge asterisks, like alternate timelines and plot-devices created by Ultron, or Ebony Blades. T'Challa has no clean wins over Iron Man.
Black Panther beat Ironman many times. First in Christopher Priest run then Hudlin's run. T'challa made Tony his little bitch in Avengers vs. X-Men #7.

Nice try, getting bitch slapped is never a good look.

I don't agree. In Priests case especially, I think he was trying very hard to make Stark look credible. These were 2 chess masters. Ultimately though it is T'Challa's book, and he gets the upperhand. If it were Starks book, it probably would have gone the other way.
Even the literal bitch slap in AvX I don't think was designed to make Stark look bad. Stark is arguably the freaking MVP of that whole story... T'Challa was basically motivating Stark to save all their butts.

Not without huge asterisks, he hasn't. And they didn't fight in Avengers vs X-Men. Tony invented a gizmo that shattered the Phoenix Force, but shattering it didn't kill it. This made Tony very depressed. T'Challa reacted to this like a frustrated brute to someone suffering from depression. And notice, T'Challa didn't take over Stark's scientific efforts. He clearly needed Stark's scientific super-genius.

You think that sounds cool? That sounds like the megalomaniacal statement of a supervillain.

Does it matter? Tony has constantly caught up hands from T'Challa. In Priest story it's even more impressive because not only did future Tony (I believe he was what? 6 minutes in the future?) Catch hands from 10 years in the future T'Challa, but that Tchalla was suffering from a brain aneurysm that should of made him immobile, let alone being able to fight and take punches from Tony.
So ultimately it doesn't matter how T'Challa beat Tony, he has beaten him Everytime they have fought

That Panther had telepathy and knowledge from the future. It knew weaknesses because of one or both of these factors. And it was fighting someone mind-controlled, and mind-controlled opponents never fight as well as characters in their right minds. A mountain of asterisks there.

How is the ebony blade an asterisk? It in his hands and he us swinging it. It not like the blade came out of knowhere and sliced Stark by itself.

ebony blade was standard equipment for t'challa during hudlin run. hardly an asterisk

This is discredit T'Challa day?

It was later revealed that Iron Man was playing at being against T'Challa because of a message he'd been given indirectly via a manipulated politician, putting everything in that story in doubt.
