Lindsey biggest problem has always been Lindsey. That ego has never recovered that FM recruited him to replace their guitarist & he forced FM to accept his girlfriend (at the time) Stevie Nicks into the band. Only to turn out she's pretty good at this rock & roll stuff. LOLz!
To add gas to the fire, then Stevie becomes a much BIGGER & ridiculously RICHER star then him. Her power inside FM is now so complete that she warned FM that it's her or him & they clearly know where their bread is buttered. Fans "might" come to see FM with Lindsey, but they will climb over broken glass to hear FM & Stevie Nicks songs at the same concert.

Agreed 100% with all of the above. But...
I really wish Stevie had sucked it up and let him join the 2018/2019 tour. Make your ultimatum if you must, but use it as leverage to keep LB's ego in check and give the fans what they want - they did *not* want a Crowded House & Heartbreakers cover band. Lindsey's right when he says that stunt tarnished FM's legacy.
These people are all over 70 now, and with Covid sucking two more yrs out of everyone, that was the last viable opportunity for a proper farewell from the Rumours 5. :(
