[QUOTE=Kaitou D. Kid;6352233]A few years ago, I went back to read the 90's stuff, and as bad as a lot of that was, Peter's voice was alright. He still sounded like Spider-Man. Maybe too mopey at times, but I never felt like I wasn't reading Spider-Man.
Spider-Man under BND/Slott/Wells hasn't felt like that at all.

You know, I actually thought about this. And aside from a few rare stories I can kinda say the same. The stories where Spider-Man feels like Spider-Man are in secondary titles. Like Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Or Miles' book. Or Spider-Men, etc. Even Superior was better when it was written by someone other than Slott.
The 90s were a crazy ass time for sure, but Spider-Man was undoubtedly Spider-Man back then. Ironically enough when you consider the Clone Saga.
