Quick question: if Sprite can become a female with no problem, why didn't they just put them into an adult body and avoid them becoming a villain?
Honestly? Probably synergy. Might be something they do later though.

Not to fond of issue 1. Gillens attempt with the machine narrating lacks a proper flow/feeling/rhythm. It’s like a computer doing prose. Empty.
Probably his intention, yet it’s still the impact. Intentional or not.
Didn’t care for Ribics portrayal of Icarus or Sprite. Their faces seemed to change from page to page. Shame that it is this issues two focus characters.
Great backgrounds though.
So the excluded are Kronos and Sprite.
Are the others Thanos, Eros, A’Lars and Sui-San? The Uranian/Titan Eternals?
I think Gillen has implied in past interviews that Uranos is one of the excluded since he has drawn analogies to him being the Morgoth of the Eternals, a character in a somewhat similar position in the Silmarillion/LOTR imprisoned outside of creation.

But what does the say about the population of the Uranus and Titan Eternals if the total number of Eternals is only 100?
What about Thena and Kro’s children?
-
So ishta( Ishtar) is a eternal thats in gilgamesh faction..
I'm also assuming one of the blacked out names are ereshkigal.
Would that mean humbaba and maybe enkidu were devants

I'm getting the impression that the Eternals of Uranus have been retconned in some fashion.
Presumably because their apparent purpose is to be the Eternal Child?
Yeah, this. Sprite was designed to be a child; they can't change details like that. No matter how much they want to.

Ereshkigal is a Deviant, not an Eternal.

I thought Sprite may have been gender swapped! Interesting. Shes actually a she as well, not non-binary. That will likely be the reason Makati has been race swapped and gender swapped.
I liked this issue. Not very familiar with these guys but they've done a good job characterizing the ones we did get in this first issue. Unfortunately the stinger at the end was spoiled by solicits, likely a result of COVID-19 delays.
But good stuff, I love art. Even the faces, he doesn't do same face which is something that stands out from even industry vets.

I really liked this issue. Eternals stories always feel like epics to me and the reasoning behind them looking more like the MCU versions wasn't contrived.

But the Titan Eternals are an Offshoot of the Uranus Eternals who are in turn an offshoot of the Earth Eternals.

A great first issue! I can’t wait for the next chapter.

I really enjoyed this issue.
-
Zuras mother, Diana, is even on the list of Eternals.

I really liked this issue. Ikaris has never been of much interest, but I feel he got quite a bit of depth ive never noticed before. I also wasn't sure how much I would care for the gender swapping, but I really like the way it was explained and even questioned in the story.
Very much looking forward to the next issue.
