All hail the king!
Falcon (and Mackie) was AWESOME, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I've always like him in the comics. I'm glad he's finally starting to get his due, hopefully he gets more. He deserves it.

I'm glad he's getting attention too. I noticed that he was always put in the same category as DC's Aqua Man. People wrote him off as useless or a joke because of his abilities.

Yeah, and to be honest, that always aggravated me. His abilities are pretty legit, IMO. He could be a real force to be reckoned with, in a recon/stealth role. Being able to see what birds see? For recon and spying, no one would ever expect a bird to be, essentially a mic and camera, also in cities (i.e. New York) it would really be hard for enemies to really escape, what with all the pigeons that can fly around (basically Jabare's pic). Also while fighting using the birds as distractions, etc, etc. He really isn't "lame" at all, it's just some writers seem to not be very imaginative with this ability. Remender seems to be doing okay with him (extremely small sample size right now) from what I've seen of him in Cap's solo, and he's doing pretty good in Mighty Avengers too. Hopefully he continues to get a push due to his successful debut in Cap's sequel.
If Sam were to get a mini series who would you guys like to see on it? What kind of story would you like to have? I think I'd want a story that mixes his current SHIELD status and his social worker job. Maybe he gets wind of a child smuggling ring out somewhere and he uses his connections to get out to where it is and start shutting it down. The other option would be one discussed in the old thread about Crossbones making moves to become a major playing villian, starting a new Skeleton Crew and coming after Sam.
I want Ewing and Francavilla on it.

I love that idea Psycwave!
I'm fine with just about whatever story Sams in. What I really want to see is a writer show Sam off a little bit. Have him display his physical and aerial skills in full capacity to prove that he not only doesn't need guns but that he is a dangerous player in his own right.
Add in some of his bird telepathy and I'm a happy camper.
Ewing stated to someone on Twitter that Sam is showing up in issue #10 of Mighty hopefully he will have a little more panel time in that issue but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Ugh, I'm so ready to see Sam give some folks a good ole fashioned beat down. I'm suspecting his role to be minor at best. I feel like Ewing has stories to tell with BM(Zzz) that he really wants to start setting up and getting out of the way and then work with the lessor fleshed-out characters so I think it'll be awhile before Sam gets any spotlight.
Homeboy also needs to get laid. It's been awhile. I think Ali Morales was his last love interest, right?

If he gets any at all. Sorts ticks me off that Falcon his currently in a movie and we have yet to get anything really good with him in the books. To add to that in the one book were he can be predominately featured he hasn't shown up hardly at all. I like Ewing but if the book does turn into Mr. BotB and friends I will start trade waiting it or dropping it altogether.

Ewing and Francavilla would be amazing. I think I prefer the Crossbones idea. Not because the other doesn't sound great, but because I feel like the earlier we start getting Sam his own rogues gallery the more likely it is that we'll get more solo stories from him. Which is when I'd run the child smuggling ring story and dig into the difference Sam makes as a social worker.
Gotta say as a lifelong Falcon fan it feels great to see more people starting to realise how great he is.

Very well said. I like the Para Rescue concept a lot. And Mackie's quiet moments were terrific. I've liked Falcon since Brubaker's run. Here's hoping we see a bit more of Sam.
And Sam vs. Crossbones would be very good indeed. It would be fun to pick up on that from the film.

I'd like to see Brubaker come back and do a Falcon mini with either David Marquez or Sara Pichelli on art. I love their work on Ultimate Spider-Man.

That something they should revisit in the 3rd Cap movie.
