I think the only thing that’s clear in hindsight is that WB should have let Snyder finish JL on the first go, taken the hit and then soft-rebooted via Aquaman and Shazam
I say that it would have been better for them not to have greenlit Justice League or any other DC movies until after they had seen the reaction to BVS

Pretty much. Whatever they hated about what Snyder was doing on JL, at least let the guy finish his work. If it still bombed, then it bombed. Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last. Pick yourself up and move on. It's mind-boggling how a studio that's been around since the movie industry exists can make such embarrassing decisions.

They're still under no obligation to finish a film that they have no faith in. It's more likely they would have just scrapped the whole thing like Justice League Mortal had they not thought they could salvage it.
In hindsight the studio should’ve fired Ray Fisher for the reshoots.
It's be so comedic to have two different looking actors swapping in for the same character, with the other cast members not paying it any mind LOLOL

The problem was that Snyder wasn’t listening when they told him to make it lighter and make it self-contained. He was still shooting stuff like he wanted. That’s why there’s enough footage for 4 hours. He’s also throwing in his hook for a sequel, so this Cut isn’t going to quiet people down.

Just a few more weeks to put up with this

Ha! Don't be so sure. This is gonna drag on for months and months.

He’s not going to let up. WB should just ignore him moving forward which is what I bet they’ll do.
I see Fisher is going after Emmerich now too. I can’t remember, did he accuse Emmerich in the initial accusation? Feels like he did.
Hahaha oh Christ, firing the one black main cast member? Yeah that would’ve gone over well.
Ray Fisher isn’t the only black actor in Hollywood.

THIS
And with Coates being hired for Superman-the Snyder fans are not going to cool off.
Once again this falls at the WB's feet for not moving on.
Then they should've complained about it when the character was introduced in the 80s.
They probably did. However some of this stuff has to be bought up by SOMEONE-mainly someone at the company.
Example-Eric McCommick had to get on his writing staff on TNT's Perception about the lack of stuff Arjay Smith was doing on the show. They had this black guy playing a Jewish black kid who was the one person who put McCommick's character in his place. Arjay's character got fleshed out even more the next 2 seasons.
DC has Metamorpho and Marvel has the Thing who are in the same position as Victor.
Metamorpho had a wife and CHILD. The Thing had at least 2 lovers and married one. Swamp Thing had a love interest and child. Toxic Avenger had a love interest. Beast had a few as did Nightcrawler. Mettle from Avengers Academy had a love interest who was radioactive.
Excluding Mettle who was a POC-the rest of those freaks were white guys.
There was no indication who was making a big deal about Cyborg's penis, but as we did know that Cyborg's emasculation was a preexisting issue with the character it was generally assumed that Ray was the one with the issue.
Yet it's not an issue with Doom Patrol Cyborg. Or Marvel's Mettle-who is just that metal but still found a way to sleep with Hazmat.
Long story short, Geoff Johns is racist for basically not wanting this in the movie?
And for also cutting characters deemed unnecessary to the main plot, some of whom included POC, in order to meet the studio mandated 2 hour runtime? That's what makes him such an "abhorrent racist"?
Well when does Vic become Cyborg? Did all that happen in Justice League or was he already Cyborg?
If the majority of the scenes you cut have POC in them-isn't that an issue with the script, casting and director?
When did the studio mandate 2 hours?? That should have been discussed before ANY filming started. That script should have been toned down.
You should not let someone film 4-5 hours worth of footage. Some of that should have been cut before filming.
Or you should have been doing what Marvel was doing filming 2 movies at once.
Film your Cyborg movie and JL movie. If most of his footage is getting cut-get a script writer to fill in the holes and have a Cyborg film ready. Or have enough together for a Snyder Cut Cyborg film.

While this is obviously a bit too melodramatic... what exactly is wrong with that take? Cyborg struggling with his humanity and will to live to me sounds like an obvious plot points to explore. Yes, it is overdone in comics, but this would be rather unique take for comics book movie adaptations.

So the first response doesn't answer my question and I was never talking about love interests, I was asking what was wrong with giving him a freak origin when it's a uncommon trope.
