I really think that is BP lining up with Thanos and company. If this is true, then he has taken the advice he was given that seriously. It's a fascinating story wrinkle and I'm looking forward to all the fireworks as this plays out.
It could also be Strange as well. Looks like a cape being worn by that figure.
I think it looks like a coat, Maximus?
It seems like that must be a misunderstanding on CBR's part.. AXIS has previously been said to start this fall (by Brevoort or another editor I think?) which makes sense given that they are already teasing it. I could see it being behind that schedule by a few months at most, but not by over half a year, especially with the assumption that it ties in with Uncanny Avengers story beats that have probably been roughly scheduled since Remender started the series. We'll see I guess.
Ya, I was under the impression that AXIS was this Fall. I'm expecting at least a 0 or prelude issue in the Sept solicits.

Anyone have a blown up image? I want to see if that's BP standing behind Namor or someone else.
I think it looks like a coat, Maximus?
Maximus is a good guess as well.
So that means Strange, BP, or Maximus. Either way, a formidable group.

I like how that image echoes NA#1
Namor lining up with Thanos? Is that BP as well with Thanos as well?
Cap and Tony on the same side in Avengers as well.
This is going to be fun to watch.
Cap and Tony being on the same side will be fun to watch unless they've resolved their issues by then (I hope not I want the drama to carry on till the end of this story arc we're talking about lol).
I heard rumors of a possible reboot? Anybody think it might be true?
I strongly, strongly, strongly, doubt it's true, the only reason I wouldn't rule it out is because I don't work for Marvel so can't say 100% that it isn't.

That's not BP behind Namor, the person has some white markings on what he/she is wearing.

Shuri's costume has white. Probably Maximus though.

That entire 1st arc had such outstanding cover art.

Oh it won't be an easy reconcilation I'm thinking and they'll probably still hate each other.

Gotta be Maximus.
Which, again, oh jeez.

That's an extremely dangerous group of villains.
-
I still wonder where that leaves the rest of the Illuminati that aren't shown.
Yeah, that's Cap, no idea about the cane guy. The ones with Thanos and Namor are Black Swan, Terrax, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive. I can't see who's the guy behind.
Namor being there could be related to the deal he made with Black Swan.
The cane guy IS Steve Rogers, without his super soldier serum. See most recent cover to Captain America. I would hazard a guess that Captain America is now Ian, his long-lost son from Dimension Z.
-
LOL. Thanos' team decided not to be a boys only club. Way to go heroes/jerks.

So Ian with the Avengers then. Hickman is tying into everyone's runs then.
