Newsarama called Betsy droll.
***side eye***
Also seems like the concern about Rogue seems to be legit.
Seems unfortunate. But we shall see when we read tomorrow.

I'd almost rather see her dragged through the mud than pregnant, but that reviewer did say it only seems like she (if it is her, and it pretty clearly is) may be going through it in a disappointing way and it could go in a different direction than they assume.

Here's what I think will be Rogue's role in this first arc, judging by solicits:
[spoil]
Issue #1: Rogue's present and active, something happens to her at the end.
Issues #2, 3 & 4: Rogue's sleeping in her "coffin".
Issue #5: Rogue dreams, so we might get a bit of a spotlight on what's happening to her. Apocalypse performs a ritual on her.
Issue #6: Rogue's back and her new status quo is revealed.
[/spoil]

I am going to try and avoid the reviews, I want to read it fresh, I think it's going to be awesome!

This isn't much different than what we got from Mike Carey, and that story was wonderful, so as long as the rest of the characters are entertaining, and the end result is interesting, I'm fine with it.

Didn't a mutant hitch a ride on Rogue at one point during Carey's run. I can't remember what mutant it was but it was one people thought was dead. I want to say Lila Cheney but i'm not sure. I think it's when they did the scan and was picking up there was an extra mutant in the room.

Rogue helped free Ariel, but Ariel was in Korvus's sword.

Ahh ariel was her name. Thanks couldn't remember. Just read it on wiki. It was a piece of her in all the mutants that used her gate to return from space and Rogue opened up a portal using Korvus' sword to get to the pocket dimension she was trapped in.

I wonder if this will hit the ground running with mutant magic and what it means...and i hope we get to see what it means for Betsy to be Captian B
This review is wild.
He seemed to strongly believe that the past iterations of Excalibur are very important to this story when, aside from Betsy's relationship with/to her brothers as a point of entry for her character, very little of the previous Excalibur is relevant to this book.
I LOVED Claremont/Davis' Excalibur but know very little of what came later on after they left the book...still, I see this more as a benefit rather than a deterrence because HiX-Man has clearly established that this is something very new and different.

Same here. Much more enjoyable to me to not have anyone else's "voice" in my head when I read. But I see people are already getting into some speculative details already so I'm outta here! See ya on the other side, RachelGrey :D
I'm SO excited! This is the book I've been waiting for. :D
