By mythic, do you mean the Achilles from Homer's story or folklore? Because they are very different. Homer's version was basically a sword-n-sandles version of Karate Kid. He wasn't invulnerable, but he was even more over-the-top insanely skilled than the movie version. Folklore Achilles is a low-end version of Juggernaut: invulnerable except for his heel.
