I like the idea of this book going to a new writer. A seasoned vet would be good but the Milestone Initiative seemed pretty cool and a brand new writer will be completely fresh coming in (for better or worse I guess, lol). But yeah, I think it’ll be pretty sweet to see what the new guy can do with it.
I’m hopeful, a little worried given I don’t know this guy, but I didn’t know who PKJ was before he took on Action and obviously that worked out great for me.

They really should have been pushing him harder. I liked that Morrison brought him in ASAP for the New 52, but I wish DC had taken a chance on giving him his own book earlier. And of course it sucks that the 90s was basically the last time DC tried to adapt him outside of comics with Shaq and the DCAU. We’ve got Wole now at least but I’m praying he shows up in MAWS, I want to see Irons introduced to the younger gens where he can hopefully acquire new fans.
I'm absolutely looking forward to Steelworks, I've always love Steel and I love Natasha's new costume. Kinda modern 80s vibes.

Well with PKJ there was his work on The Last God to reference as prior work. I read that myself, only after his Action run was out but his fantasy background was intriguing coming in. With Quick there’s less coming in for sure. I checked out his resume and there’s credits for Venom and Spiderverse movies, not sure what he contributed tho. (As an aside it also lists Old Spice, so if he writes the commercials we at least know he’s funny, lol).
But yeah, def more of a clean slate take. Sink or swim I guess. Looking forward to it, esp the new writer aspect. I’m hopeful it’ll be a nice run. What is cool is that he’s a guy looking to get in to the comic writing genre so theoretically the passion is there.
John and Nat look damn good in their suits! Of course Lex wants Metallo to blow up Steelworks the minute they make it bigger than Lexcorp tower ;)

I’m personally happy today’s issue of Action Comics reconfirmed the New 52 origin for Metallo is canon. I like that it ties, Irons, Metallo, Lex, and Superman all together.

The New 52 origin was great because of how it differentiated Irons from the archetype he’s drawing on: Tony Stark/Iron Man. Like Stark, Irons’ heroic motivation comes from regret. He created something that he wishes he hadn’t and is trying to make up for it. But where Stark created weapons, Irons helped birth something even worse: the super villain. Metallo was one of the first super villains, and because Irons had a hand in creating the concept, he feels like he needs to become a super HERO as a counter balance. That’s what I love about it conceptually.

I hope Dorn and Basri give JHI the earring his DCAU counterpart had. Clearly inspired by Michael Jordan and personally I love that:

Honestly I had forgotten Dorn played Steel in S:TAS. I only remember him playing Kalibak while Phil LaMarr played Steel in JLU.
But I'm glad John Henry is getting his own series again, finally, and I knew Vordan would get a kick out of the Lana mention ;).
