Donna started as young Diana, so it's full-circle, baby!
I tend to think of Diana's hair being wavier so I get where you're coming from.

Which brings up the question; how should an artist differentiate between Diana and Donna to the point where they are recognizable and distinct even when they are out together in regular clothes?

I see some artists give Diana curls or wavier hair whereas Donna's is straight. Diana is sometimes given some more pronounced cheekbones or a Roman nose to better match the more Mediterranean phenotype they go for.
If both have the same type of hair, the hairstyle line is essential. Diana in the middle and Donna on the side.

This is a very good point and something I didn't notice or thought of before.

When I went to the Avant Gallery in Miami, I saw this paint from Skyler Grey an artist who often uses superhero motifs in his works.
