"Dalek Universe 3" comes out today.

So Jodie has filmed her half of the regeneration. Wonder if when the new person is cast they'll simply finish the scene, or have perhaps a regeneration 'cliffhanger' like with Troughton, who we don't see immediately turn into Pertwee (Was Pertwee announced prior to the War games airing?)

New trailer. There's of course the Weeping Angels and Sontarans previously announced, but the Sontarans now have an armor and look redesign that is very reminiscent of the first appearance (Linx). Also, the Ood and the Cyberwarriors are back, plus what looks like (Napoleonic era?) soldiers fighting the Sontarans.

It's the Crimean War (1854) apparently. Mary Seacole is appearing.

Jodie and Mandip at the wrap party. Given her costume, wonder if Jodie will ever do a comic book movie? Every other new Who Doctor has done at least one. (with the exception of maybe John Hurt although I could be wrong).

Hurt did the first Hellboy film back in 2004.

They've all been either DC/Vertigo or Marvel villains at some point. Eccleston was Malekieth, David was Killgrave, Smith is a villain in the Morbius movie, Hurt was the Big Brother character in V For Vendetta and Capaldi was the Thinker. So I guess we'll have to think of a suitable villain in comics for her?

Both Hellboy movies actually. The opening sequence of part 2 had a young Broom telling an adolescent Hellboy a bedtime story that was essentially the backstory for the movie's villains.

Speaking of WHO actors in movies, Matt Smith is in the upcoming Edgar Wright film with Anna Taylor-Joy.

Sounds like the next Doctor has been selected because all bookies have pulled Doctor Who related prop bets.
Olly Alexander took the odds to 2:1 up until they were pulled.
So somebody knows who it will be (doesn't specifically mean that it will be Olly, just that somebody knows) in the bookie end of things.

Lydia West is the more likely candidate, imo.

Haven't heard of Lydia West really. Quick look up is that she was also on It's a Sin and did a BF audio with Donna in it. At 28 she'd probably be tied with Smith for the youngest cast.

That's why I stated it that way because how it was reported was not saying it was a specific person BUT that somebody KNOWS who it is now, which would make betting unfair.
"The fix is in!" And all that. :)

I had to look it up, too.

The next actor will have been cast and they'll get them in to film their bit of the regeneration. Makes no sense filming Jodie's exit and then having to come back later on and remount it. No, Jodie will have done her bit, then have a wrap party for her, then the crew will resume filming the rest afterwards. Although the classic series often had the incumbent actor in the wings as the previous filmed their exit.
I do like the idea of a Troughton-esque regeneration though. Whereby Jodie regenerates and we don't see the next actor until the next episode airs. Or better yet, have the regeneration start and then finish it in the next episode.

Whilst I don't know Lydia I would be pleased to see RTD commit to maintaining a female Doctor for now and show that having a actress as the Doctor was never the issue with the Criball era. Jodie Comer or Haley Atwell would be my dream casting choices but they're likely way too busy and important these days to be viable.
