Now this sounds great. This is everything I didn't know I wanted when I read there'd be a Midnighter back-up in Superman Worlds of War. And the team includes Manchester Black of all people, that should be interesting. Only thing that would improve this is if Chester was still in cow form.
Hopefully Lois appears here at some point. Steel too, considering Natasha is here.

It's nice to have some Superman comic content to unreservedly be excited about for a change
Hot damn I was not expecting this, but you better believe I’m excited! Guessing this is Morrison trying to merge some of the stuff he tried to do with Superman in his Action run with DC’s plans for the character in the future. Also a redemption attempt for Morrison’s failures with Wildstorm last time.
Also Morrison writing Manchester Black is something I’ve always wanted but never thought would happen ;)
What happened with Morrison and Wildstorm?

Their Wildcats comic lasted 1 issue, their Authority 2.

Lol, I remember how excited I was for them at the time.
The additional speedster is the Black Racer.
To me it is definitely clear that the Future State books were basically a prologue to this series, which would be in current continuity if the 5G thing had passed.
It looks like her, but the text says something else.
I'd have prefered Swift. She's a great character that gets no love from DC.

Maybe I can read "Lightray".

Ona different note, I love Supes' costume here. THAT is a costume which I could see in a movie.

Fascinating, is there any info on why that happened?
-
Delays killed both, Morrison was busy with other projects - dunno if there was anything else behind the scenes besides that.
Fascinating, is there any info on why that happened?
Long story short: Authority was supposed to be part of a failed Wildstorm revamp, delays were a problem from the very first moment, Morrison was discouraged with the reception and left the project (the first two issues are actually quite interesting - for the most part they take place within the real world, the one where we, readers, live in - but they are seriously decompressed ), some years later Keith Giffen took over and completed it as a maxi series.
-
Morrison was too busy with Batman and the 52 weekly.
His pitch for the Wildcats book:

It looks like a younger Manchester Black, maybe a different character entirely?
I'd hope Lois shows up. This appears to either be set before or after the Worlds at War series - maybe before given the status of Apollo in that timeline from the Midnighter backups. Lois was still alive there - so the Kingdom Come symbol is moving away from that (thankfully). Mongul taunted Clark with Lois & Jon and the Imperious Rex series seemed set even later than that.
As an aside, a lot of Lois in Yang & Reis' Batman/Superman today!

Is this out of continuity?

Well we have only cover so far so hard to tell.
Is this out of continuity?
We know absolutely nothing about the series besides the title, the creative team, the fact that there's a two issue trade coming in November and the possible team based off the cover of the trade.
