Wolfman is a hell of a creator, with an incredible legacy.
Romance may not have been his strong suit (see Donna Troy/Terry Long).
Well, for every Donna and Terry he also gave the fandom Dick Grayson and Starfire :).
wolfman's asm run is not good, one could argue, it was bad
He gave us Black Cat. His Spider-Man legacy is assured .

His dialogue especially is quite bad. He also nerfed Spider-Man and had went all Deathstroke Infinite Crisis on Kingpin.

I think he's a good plotter on the whole, and suited to some projects more than others. He also created Black Cat, though one can argue that Felicia really became big once Roger Stern and Bill Mantlo came along. And that they made the character better. But credit where due. A good character design and concept.

aside from classic tales like rainbow suit chameleon trying to beat spider-man with a shovel and buried treasure in may's house, the first black cat story is the one where our hero spider-man gets a woman killed (until she got better) because he fought her to drag a defenseless, dying old man back to his prison cell and away from his family
that kingpin story kicks ass though

I think you've blacked out just how awful the Donna Troy/Terry Long pairing was. :p
(I don't think that pairing is canon anymore. Which just goes to show how bad it was, lol.)
I think the March 30 edition of Brian Cronin's "If Her Hair Was Still Red" went under the radar:
https://www.cbr.com/spider-man-peter-mary-jane-first-proposal/2/
By the way, Cronin refers to "Reader Jack E." Full disclosure, c'est moi!
He rakes Wolfman over the coals for the hatchet job he was doing to MJ.
It's a good thing we had Mantlo on Spectacular Spider-Man salvaging what he could of this scene, touching on the fact MJ was more emotionally conflicted about the proposal than she let on in Wolfman's ASM, and lets Peter know she could reconsider one day.

A lot about poor Donna isn't canon anymore :p.

Morrison and/or King specialise in "all is canon" stories, give Donna to them

Would you actually want Terry Long (and Donna's relationship to him) to be canon again?

His death actually gave her a lot of character development, I wouldn't mind if he was canon but dead.

Hmm, perhaps a thread should be made in the Wonder Woman forum about this?

For those interested, Chapter Thirty-Eight of my What If OMD Never Happened? story is posted. Superior Spider-Man is here along with my twist so the concept can work in this type universe without simply retreading what the great Dan Slott did -

Which means it's already an improvement.:p
Which means it's already an improvement.:p
Dan Slott's Spider-Man was essentially University of Arizona College Football. Despised by Arizona State fans ( like me), and will never be considered on the level of Conway, Ditko and Lee just like U of A will never be on the level of USC, Oregon or Stanford. Basically Slott should have written Miles Morales. Why? This way he could have written Spider-Man without the human elements of MJ, Felicia and Peter ( which 90% of us emjoy).
