They're doing their level best to dance around "Shed."

True, not that I can fault them for that considering how dark and thoroughly unpleasant the story was.
who's the poor sap who's gonna try and pull those images from newsarama's cold, dead hands

I've been re-reading The Gauntlet and just got through 'Shed'.
I wasn't a fan at the time and the years have not improved it.
I do commend the attempt to really go dark but I feel like this one should've been killed in the pitch stage. It's just too much.
The pages for next week's issue looks terrific. I'm sure Spencer is going to deliver another winner.

It’s funny I only heard good things about The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt.

Oh yeah, overall they're really good. It's been nice to revisit this storyline having not read it since it was originally published.
That said, the four part 'Shed' was one section that did not do it for me. Objectively there's some interesting stuff there but I think it's a tad too nasty.
I wouldn't call it "bad" so much as just "not to my taste."
So are people going down into the sewers to try and see the Lizard or what?

It's Marvel. The civilians are stupid by nature.

by using the same artist? I doubt it. I didn't even read the Shed arc and it was the first thing that came to mind when looking at the preview.
on another note, I wish that preview was one page longer.

That was something that happened at the end of 'Shed'. During the story, the Lizard had awakened the reptilian side of people's brains and made them lose it and turn savage. Spidey was able to reverse that but there were a number of people who liked that feeling of having their primal nature unleashed and the story concluded with many of these people being drawn down to the sewers to seek out the Lizard. Even though it seemed to be setting up a bigger storyline to come, no one ever picked up that ball and ran with it so it'll be interesting if this issue acknowledges it.

primal nature huh? sounds like what Kraven is doing with the hunting "elite." the difference is that it's not chemically-induced.
What's the worst thing a man can do? The answer is writing such a soft and warm issue knowing that amoral God Spencer is going to hurt this family so bad.
[spoil]I debated on whether or not Vermin would get some kind of special role because he was in KLH, or not since he's just a pawn in that and his role is filled by many other characters. Turns out I was right and wrong, as his special role is that he's really not needed.
Taskmaster and Black Ant are the most gripping romance in this franchise's history.
nah but for real that two page spread about shed UWU[/spoil]
Another solid .HU issue. Loved how Spencer incorporated the horrific events of Shed into this and made them Curt's prime motivator to do right by Billy here.
Also loved Curt seeing getting the upper hand on Taskmaster as well as Tasky's regrets over doing Black Ant wrong.
These side issues have really been excellent additions to the Hunted arc.
This may have been written for me, as a big Lizard fan who wanted to see Lizard replace Vermin in Kraven's Last Hunt.
