Where are the Elves?!?
I've been thinking of how the mignolaverse is similar to Magic the Gathering... The difference is that one puts the creatures into comic books, the other into playing cards...
so I then realized where are the elves? Has mike ever used elves in his short stories? If so which stories?
And second thought... Where are the angels, merfolk and alike?!?

All of those beings are referenced or show up in the stories. Most of your questions will be answered if you keep reading.

Elves briefly appeared in "The Corpse" and mentioned that most had "passed on" from this world. I imagine it's similar to Tolkien's world where the Elves cede the world to Mortals.

I don't think Mignola created a whole world with all the creatures in it. I think they brought in fantasy creatures that fit a story when it needed them. In other words, all those creatures can be in any story they decide to have them.
