Yep, that's the one right there. A remake that absolutely obliterates the original & still terrifies today.
No it's not. I can see a discussion that it's better. But there is no way in any fashion to say the original was bad or a flop. It is still a classic scifi movie.
This thread is not about just better.
Blade 2.
The first one wasn't an awful movie buuut yeah, that sure as well was one serious improvement.
Deathstalker was a cheap Conan the Barbarian knockoff. Deathstalker II was a funny, fourth-wall-breaking spoof of cheap Conan the Barbarian knockoffs.
Sticking with Star Trek, Undiscovered Country followed Final Frontier and First Contact followed Generations. 2 fantastic movies that followed 2 terrible movies.
Guyver Dark heroe would be my pick. Although the original it not really bad in my estimation but more of an okay flick.
A lot of people (when it came out at least) said Shrek 2 was better than 1.
The second Nolan Batman film is often considered better because of Heath Ledger's Joker.
I really enjoyed Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises, but I thought Batman Begins was pretty lackluster.
None of the Saw movies are good, but I thought Saw II and III had more compelling characters than the original.

I thought the first Saw movie was pretty darn good.
Saw II was also good but I think it was with III the series started leaning into torture porn.

It got back on track with the sixth movie. Only to shit the bed with the 7th.

They're about equal, imo. The first being one of the best superhero movies to date.
Friday the 13th Part 2, did introduce Jason.
I can't even comprehend this, especially the knock aganst the original King Kong.
Like I said, true. Serves me for making posts right before bed.
The bit I remember best was when they were on the ice measuring what was under there, and them realizing they were in a perfect saucer-shaped circle. For some reason that scene has always struck me as so perfect and cinematic.
Same here. I don't remotely get the okay but overplayed 2005 Kong being close to the innovation of the 1933 original or that original being a bad movie.
Really not seeing the dislike of the original Wrath of Khan either as it stands as the most beloved of all the original cast Trek movies.

...really? I always thought the original was commonly agreed to be the best with each following entry getting worse. What was bad about Blade?
Die Hard With A Vengence was much better than Die Hard 2
