DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Dallas ISD Deputy Superintendent Israel Cordero has resigned from his post following allegations of employee misconduct, according to the district. Sources tell CBS 11 that Cordero is facing allegations of sexual harassment.
The district confirmed Cordero submitted his letter of resignation after he was placed on administrative leave on Wednesday amid the employee misconduct allegations.
In his letter, Cordero said his resignation will be effective on December 15 in order to pursue other opportunities.
“I have decided to resign effective December 15 to pursue other career opportunities and to work on my dissertation. I am extremely proud of my 21 years with the Dallas ISD and regret beyond words to make this decision. LUBBOCK, Texas (KLBK) - The Texas Board of Education recently voted on a number of potential changes to be made to U.S. history and social studies curriculum.
As it currently stands, teachers will not be required to teach students about certain political and public figures, such as Hillary Clinton, who was the first female presidential candidate, as well as Helen Keller, who was deaf, blind and graduated from college and later became an activist.
But, the question remains: Is it possible to rewrite history?
"We feel that the state board of education has taken a wrong vote on this issue, especially because it's saying that teachers don't have to teach very important political figures such as Hilary Clinton and Helen Keller," said Clinton Gill with the Texas State Teachers Association. "These are women that have made a historical impact not only on the United States, but also on females that are growing up. So we feel that teachers should be required to teach them as a part of the history, just like they do for their male counterparts. It's very important for young ladies to have a role model that they can look up to and learn about them all throughout their high school, middle school and elementary schooling."
The board also made decisions to keep references of "Judeo-Christian" values, as well as to reinsert Moses as a Biblical figure of influence.
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson told an audience of conservative activists on Friday that the sexual assault allegations facing President Donald Trump's nominee to the Supreme Court are part of a plot by socialists to take over America that dates back more than a century.
"If you really understand the big picture of what's going on, then what's going on with Kavanaugh will make perfectly good sense to you," Carson said at the annual Values Voter Summit in Washington. "There've been people in this country for a very long time, going all the way back to the Fabians, people who've wanted to fundamentally change this country."
The term "Fabians" refers to the Fabian Society, a British socialist organization that was founded in the 19th century, and which today functions as part of the UK's Labour Party. An American chapter of the Fabian society was established in 1895 in Boston, but it is no longer active in the United States.
Nonetheless, Carson vividly described what he claimed the ideological descendants of the Fabians were plotting, and how Professor Christine Blasey Ford's allegation that Kavanaugh assaulted her at a party in the 1980s fit into the plot.
The NYT put out an article About Rosenstein. Be wary of it, it's misleading. The talk is about Rosenstein wearing a wire to record Trump. Other news agencies are reporting it more accurately, saying that Rosentin was having a heated argument and said, sarcastically, something like, 'What do you want me to do, wear a wire?' Also the source is questionable.
Point is, the Republicans might jump on this, and Trump might use this to try and get rid of Rosenstein.
This is almost certainly the entire point.

I watched it on youtube. Ted Cruz is a ridiculous writhing mass of worms wearing a people-suit in order to trick Texan mammals into voting against their species' best interests.
I bet I wasn't the only one who wanted to reach through his monitor to punch Lyin' Teds' stupid face when he deliberately flubbed the last part of the debate (Say something nice about your opponent) and turned it a smear attack (I respect that he believes what he says, folks! Too bad his beliefs are those of a SOCIALIST!) He's spent his entire life violating the spirit of the law, while sticking to the letter of it. Those hosts were cowards for not calling him out on it.

Keep in classy, because that figures to happen. Republicans have a hive mind mentality when it comes to voting that would put the Borg from Star Trek to shame. Say what you will about how deplorable or what outright scumbags GOP politicians tend to be, but their base will come out to vote for them without fail. Or, to quote what a member here have said in this thread before, "Democrats fall in love. Republicans fall in line". And that's the problem, not just in Texas, but everywhere across the country.
The ongoing custody battle between former Trump campaign operatives Jason Miller and A.J. Delgado has taken another nasty turn: In an explosive new court filing, Delgado’s legal team alleges that Miller—prior to their own high-profile extramarital romance—carried out an affair with a woman he met at an Orlando strip club.
This may be an unpopular thought.
But let’s be radical..and assume it’s not impossible that Kavaungh may be innocent....and is certainly entitled to be treated as such until the case is proven in court.
Then..don’t some of Prof Ford’s requirements for giving testimony seem deeply troubling?
(In effect she wants to impose conditions that would remove the accused rights to rebut specific points she may make..she requires him to testify first, then not speak again after her evidence. I think in practically any other context a liberal humanitarian would be appalled at that suggested “methodology”.)
Yeah, having the accused testify first when publicly available information is so limited doesn't seem like something that would be supported in any other context.
On one specific point, I haven't seen anything to indicate that she doesn't want Kavanaugh to speak after her. She wants him questioned before, but that doesn't prevent anyone from questioning him later.
Yes I am comfortable.
Several women have come forward saying that, yes, they have been assaulted or raped, no they did not come forward at the time, but yes, they would absolutely do so if the person was up for a major public office. She has made her own life a lot more difficult by coming forward. She is willing to talk to the FBI (lying to them would be a crime), he is not willing to do that.
She is entitled not to do this the way the GOP wants to, because they cannot be trusted here.
And again, this all could be avoided if just 2 or 3 GOP senators would say: we have seen too many sketchy details about this guy, let's see the next candidate on Trump's list who doesn't have as much baggage.
This is a story that feels like it's been around so long, that we forget how recent it is.
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/19/kavanaugh-allegation-timeline-829983
Most Democrats didn't become aware of the allegations until ten days ago.
This is relatively unprecedented, in that I'm unaware of any investigation on this level into what a nominee for a position did as a minor, let alone one based on one person's testimony.
It seems reasonable to make a decision after either she testifies, or evidence comes forward that Kavanaugh behaved in similar ways towards other women.
That kind of thing has me wondering if it isn't just a question of time before more of his victims come forward.
It's possible.
It seems a bit unusual that it's been over a week since the story broke, and no one else has come forward.
Within five days of Tweeden's allegation against Franken, another woman had come forward.
