It was brought back on Uncanny x-force and also on Disamssembled.
Cyclops was forgiven the moment they knew that it wasn't Cyclops doing, but it was Emma illusion
Which is its own bag of BS. Cyclops was forgiven for being evil because he didn't stand up and defend mutantkind from being gassed to death?
Scott is a complete failure lmao
Jean- “No touching.”
Jean is also a totally useless character.
Scott: Can't do that you loser bitch as all you do is die on me so I am not letting go of you this time. :p
But, imo, the main goal at the time was to remove Cyclops from the X-books and put other characters in the spotlight. Marvel chose to do so by making him evil, using a time skip and trying to build some cheap mistery about the horrible thing he did.
Thats why he wasn't character assassinated on page, they wanted to do it off panel, what probably saved the carácter.
Cyclops only appeared in one book before the Terrigen non-sense, and wasn't even the main X-men team, it had nothing to do with "wanting other characters in the spotlight". The issue is that someone at Marvel held a grudge that the vast majority of fans sided with Cyclops and the X-men in AvX (and Schism to a lesser extent). If it was "wanting other characters in the spotlight" they wouldn't have kept insisting on that "Cyclops was wrong" and "Emma is evil" bullshit until one week before House of M.

The only terrible thing Cyclops was shown doing was killing Xavier while under possession and some people think he had it worse

Cyclops was death, he couldn't had done anything to stop the terrigen mists. So he was innocent all the time

Being declared innocent of destroying a deadly cloud that would have sterilized and killed all mutants is still funny.
