My grandfather had been in between a nursing home and the hospital since January. A few days ago, he hit one of the nurses at the home and knocked her tooth out, so they sent him to the hospital for a few days. Now, they've discharged him, but he can't go back to the nursing home, so he has to go into hospice care at home. Which they sprung on us a few hours ago, so me and my aunt have been scrambling to get the house in order and make room for the bed he'll have to sleep in.
This sucks, but nothing we can do about it.
Sorry to hear that.
For Honor has a new character dropping soon and she looks awesome. Her trailer was rather creepy.
You also play For Honor? If so, you've gone up even further in my esteem.
So few of us, there are.

So I shouldn't tell you the Autobots, the Joes, U.S. 1, the USS Enterprise, Luke Skywalker, Rom: Spaceknight, and Godzilla show up to fight Thanos? Because when people said Infinity War/Endgame was the most ambitious crossover ever, they weren't kidding!
Warning: I may in fact be making this shit up. But Marvel DID have comic rights to Transformers, G.I. Joe, Star Trek, Star Wars, Rom: Spaceknight, and Godzilla at various points in their long history.

Appreciate the well wishes, guys.

Yeah, I know it's rough. Just stay strong, hang tight, and don't let it get to you too much or you'll stress yourself out and make yourself sick.

There's gotta be at least five of you.

Watched Captain Marvel today. Fun movie, funny. Nick Fury was hilarious. Minor spoilers ahead.
Sexism tones were heavy, and it did make me curious about examining why it prompts such a visceral reaction. It seems a bit strange in the same universe as Peggy Carter (haven't seen the series, maybe she encountered similar obstacles?)
In any case, as with Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel has a fairly shallow take on the subject. It's relevant in as much as it informs us of Carol Danvers as a character how she keeps picking herself up from adversity, how it helped nurture her rebellious nature. I was afraid Carol would be boring to watch, but she's not. She has a good arc and enough characteristics and charisma to carry the show as an interesting character rather than a blank slate. Marvel tends to be good about that, just like they elevated Steve Rogers. But for hitting the audience so hard with it the show doesn't really have a whole lot to say besides female empowerment, which it does better when it simply shows powerful females.
The special effects are awesome, my main complaint being the weightlessness really shows when Captain Marvel is punching people who can't fly, have the mass of a human but are expected to be able to take hits that would turn humans to paste. The Kree have an incredibly beautiful civilization and overall design aesthetic. The ships are cool, the powers and weapons feel like they're there and have substance.
My main complaint in the movie is the lack of tension. Captain Marvel is so ridiculously beyond her opponents that even when she's holding back it's like fighting a bunch of children. I like that she does hold back though, and her teammates aren't made out to be one-dimensional baddies. But the show loses any sense of tension as Carol Danvers continually becomes more ridiculously OP the more she gains the moral high ground. This is a problem the show shares with Wonder Woman, but Captain Marvel suffers from it way more because the fights are more dragged out. Being right guarantees victory for the protagonist in these movies, and their only real battle is in realizing what the right path is.
Compare to Black Panther, which had a lot to say when it tackled racism and the legacy of slavery, and BP still had to actually win a tense and even fight where being morally right had nothing to do with who was stronger.
Still, overall a good, fun movie. Better than the first Captain America, about as good as Ant Man.

So in regards to Endgame feats I think people are overlooking [spoil]Wand easily overwhelming Thanos (the same Thanos who was slaping arounf Thor, Iron Man and Hammer Cap).[/spoil]
