Wait..wasn't NU Wonder Woman a lot weaker than her pre-flashpoint counterpart? Did she get buffed to NU Kryptonian levels recently or something?
Idk she's always treated as Superman levels in JL from first issue itself . That's just....how Johns has been writing her .
And those two were fighting? Are they not together anymore or what?
Oh it's your usual cringeworthy comic scene where Diana and Trevor see Barda and Free making out , and for reasons best known to themselves attempt to do the same while Diana says her relationship with Supes is nothing serious or something. At which point Supes ( who in addition to the God thing, is now evil as a side effect of "sun-dipping" in the firepits of Apokolips) tries to kill them for sport because that's what a God of strength wants . More fighting . Anyway as of JL 47 Supes was temporarily back to good under the influence of the lasso though still a glowing black God . Oh yeah and this God thing is also killing him from the inside

The new 52 started in 2011 so .....yeah . Idk if it's a reboot . More like zero hour or something to streamline continuity . Because even DCs not crazy enough to have another reboot within 5 years . Well it is but they've got movies coming out now so seems unlikely
So what you guys are saying is that there's like a 75% chance that Goku could get DQ'd for missing the match due to challenging the wrong Superman?
Sounds like a trick SA Superman would use to beat a superior opponent

Nah, he'd probably just try to marry him to a gorilla.

When the writers making pitches for it have been told that it's basically a reboot.. and titles are being cancelled, merged, restarted, plotlines ended, they're threatening the usual DC continuity shaking event to go with it, that people in universe are "remembering" stuff like previous incarnations of the Titans and JSA existing the whole time or whatever...
It kiiiinda feels less like Zero Hour, which ultimately didn't really change all that much in the great scheme of things as far as retroactive continuity wise, and more like a straight up reboot.

The issue was that for the longest while in her own title, not so much. Then again everyone is getting Rebirthed so who even knows anymore.

That's exactly part of why. Not like the comic versions of the characters currently much resemble their intended "classic" film versions or whatever. Which is about as dumb as when Marvel will change their comics characters to better reflect their movies, as if the comic reading audience are not some tiny fraction of the moviegoing one, who do not read the comics as far as some issue of them getting "confused" or something, but there you are.

Goku and beerus fighting threatened the universe, then beerus and champa fighting threatened 2 universes.
Just cos golden freeza and goku fighting didnt cause those shockwaves doesnt mean they dont hit harder or as hard.Simply means it was shown what they can do no point in doing it again. As further proof so we dont forget how much they can destroy,in the beginning of uni 6 arc we have whis statng that if beerus and champa continued fighting theyd destroy both their universes.
Plus, rof arc is full of low showings, freeza punches the ground and barely makes a fist sized crack in it,going by that logic freeza cant punch through a wall.
Reason why no shockwaves in rof is:
1.Would be boring showing same thing again
2.Low end feats throughout the whole arc
And mentioning again,in uni 6 arc is still mentioned that beerus and so forth still have their universe destructing power,so the feat in question wasnt a mere fluke.
Also for those who wish to know, the reason goku and beerus didnt cause any more shockwaves after the energy blast struggle was over,is because it was more of a brawl.Kibitoshin wonders why the shockwave are gone, and old kai responses with, well because this fight turned into a friendly brawl.
Also,i dont see how the feat is complicated.Goku and beerus connect their hits a shockwave is produced that destroys stuff through the universe and beyond.
Old kai even says that the shockwave would destroy all celestial objects in the universe, not the actual universe.
Even if u dont want to buy the destroy all things in universe thing, the shockwaves were powerful enough to travel outside the universe and beyond, split a planet into atoms(from the look of it) destroy asteroids and shaking the galaxy the moment the punches connected.

So..what was Zero Hour? I thought the post-crisis/pre-flashpoint era was the only reboot after pre-crisis before Flashpoint?
-
It was. Zero Hour was a very soft sort of "we're firming up continuity because we just realized that we half assed it after Crisis and made things even more incomprehensible". Zero Hour didn't really reboot anything so much as try to provide a coherent timeline for the DCU in an effort doomed to failure from the get go. Basically time was kind of sort of restarted but it was conveniently almost exactly the same as it was before said restart and everyone remembered that having to happen and etc.

Wasn't Zero Hero Hal going all Parralax and ended the main universe and remade it on the spot? So a streamline thing for one universe but not a multiverse destroying reboot.
Man what is the point of writing the idea of a multiverse if it just gets destroyed to one universe again and again.

Technically Zero Hour was a hard reboot in terms of what it did to the Legion which wasn't quite "exactly the same " as before

Let's be real, Legion continuity never makes sense (or not post CoIE anyway), and even without Zero Hour was on its way to something with those younger "clones" and wtf ever as far as them having been trying to reconcile it with Crisis and failing for years. Pocket dimension Superboy indeed.
So..what was Zero Hour? I thought the post-crisis/pre-flashpoint era was the only reboot after pre-crisis before Flashpoint?
Like Pendaran said , ZH was an attempt to firm up continuity especially legion continuity which was largely unchanged post crisis to that point except for the origin ( which iirc also was ignored after a few years , the pocket universe story ) .
Ironically legion continuity would be rebooted at least 2 more times by the end of the post crisis era
Also Zero Hour was far from the only "reboot" . There were several soft reboots over the years . ZH just sticks out because of what it did to legion continuity but the likes of infinite crisis also shook things up continuity wise

Yeah but zero hour was like the tipping point for the insanity that followed ;p

Listen, once you have pocket dimension Superboy, it's already going down a dark road.
