That Final Crisis wasn't the final Crisis?
Oh God this is going to tie into the Dark Multiverse and Batman Who Laughs...
Oh God this is going to tie into the Dark Multiverse and Batman Who Laughs...
And Batman & Superman, and The Infected one-shots, and The Infected: Hell On Earth mini, and Justice League, and Doomsday Clock, and Flash Forward, and Batman ... and probably Young Justice ... and ... and ... and ...
It's DC, there's always a new Crisis coming. :p

Final-er Crisis?
who cares... I'm glad eveyone on the thread just makes fun of the new crisis. :) There is still hope for you
There is no way they are doing all the work on this timeline without launching it with an event. At the same time i just cant believe they are going to this well again after flashpoint, rebirth, and doomsday clock in quick succession.

Never-ending-events is bad enough, but now it's never-ending-reality-changing-events.

NuCrisis? Post-Crisises Crisis? Post-Flashpoint Crisis? Crisis on infinite Timelines? Epilogue Crisis?
There's zero to like in this announcement, and my apathy turns to derision when I consider the Batman Who Sucks likely at the heart of it. Groan. Hardest of passes.
It seemed pretty clear from Metal/No Justice forward that Snyder was building to a big Crisis event (I think Bleeding Cool even had a post about it last year). We're clearly heading towards the endgame with Hell Arisen. Flash Forward and Tales of the Multiverse are providing a ton of backstory for a purpose, and that only makes sense if that purpose is forthcoming soon.
One might guess we'll get some real traction on the name on or around Dec 18, when Batman: Last Knight on Earth #3 (final issue), Batman #85 (last King issue), Doomsday Clock #12, Hell Arisen #1, Batman/Superman #5, Suicide Squad #1, Flash Forward #4, and Justice League #38 all come out
Dark Multiverse Crisis.
Editorial wanted to call Metal "Dark Crisis" and Snyder/Capullo talked them down. I assume Snyder, et al. will talk down anything else that bland or silly.
Epilogue Crisis sounds pretty fantastic
Nope. Nope.
Just look at the state of DC, of course they are in crisis. Crisis in Editorial or Crisis in Dido. It’s about to the point where I just don’t care and will stick to trades of back issues because the current universe is so poorly done.
Crisis of Infinite Reboots!
Crisis of losing sales with Mangas and non superhero comics as the villain
I think it's pretty clear DC is going through a major conflagration of events right now. Timelines and worlds are being shuffled and that's been pretty constant since the Rebirth special. Now the question of "Has DC officially announced a new Crisis?" hasn't been confirmed. Rumors abound though. I don't think many doubt it'll happen.
The best rumor I've heard is for a simply titled "Crisis" occurring in 2020.
Crisis Of Infinite Crises
It will be funny if the "crisis" involved all the Multiverse getting destroyed either by the god wave or something coming out of the source or everything getting absorbed back into the source and the new gods are conspicuous by their absence in the event. :p I would be disappointed if Darkseid doesn't save all creation with the aid of Mr. Mxyzptlk and becomes the new god Emperor of all reality. :p Things will have come full circle then.

It sure seems that way.
I honestly can't take another crisis. I never thought I'd say this but DC Comics and I might be parting company soon. If we have another crisis level event I'll likely need a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggg break.
Didn't they say it a while ago? Wally's Flash Forward will lead up to a new Crisis, and that into a new timeline?
Didn't they say it a while ago? Wally's Flash Forward will lead up to a new Crisis, and that into a new timeline?
It's Didio talking about Wally.
You never believe Didio talking about Wally.
Not ever.
We have just been introduced to the ‘Ultra-Monitor’ in Snyder’s JL...so...’Ultra Crisis: The Mother of All Crises...Of Infinite Epic Proportions’????
I'll be honest: as much as three years ago I would have said this wasn't necessary, it kind of is now.

I only buy out of continuity stuff anymore precisely for this reason. I think the only mainstream book I'm getting right now is Lois Lane and it's so continuity heavy, I'm thinking about dropping it anyway. I only picked it up for the art.
If there is another event, I'll drop off of DC and only read back issues. I got a short box full of LOTDK to read and I know a guy who'll sell me a complete NML set. I can start there.
As for new comics, there's no shortage of good indie stuff coming out. So bring it DC. I got my exodus all planned out.

Me too! NO 5G or $$$ from me, I'll stick to the older comics....unless they eventually quit releasing them.
I can't stand Dan Didio since he killed my Bronze Age Omni's of the Brave & the Bold V3 and JLA V3, among many other cancellations of chunky trades.

True, what's the point of following the main DC continuity if they are always changing it? DC needs to stop these continuity reset events ASAP, IMO.
Sooner or latter Bendis is going to do a big Crisis event book. It is going to happen just because that is who Bendis is.
“A Crisis of Confidence”
“A Crisis of Confidence”
The best play on the phrase yet, IMO. :D
Okay, now answering the question from the post honestly, NO, they haven't, but yes, THEY WILL at some point. Probably.
CBR: My first question for you is about something right towards the start of this issue in the exclusive preview that we ran. Tempus Fuginaut, who's heavily involved with Flash Forward teases a new Crisis. What can you tell me about that and how it fits into these one-shots?
Kyle Higgins: I really kind of started my career at DC. I started at Marvel, but my big breaks came at DC, and those were in conjunction with Scott Snyder, working on Gates of Gotham. And then I transitioned for the New 52 to Nightwing and Scott transitioned to Batman. Anyone who remembers that era probably would remember that we often interlinked arcs. So there's a natural fit here as to why he and I decided to do this initial one-shot to kick off all the Dark Multiverse one-shots that are forthcoming.
And that particular point that you just keyed on about the tease of a new Crisis, perhaps the biggest yet, is absolutely a component of that... I can't say anything specific about it, but what I can say is that it's there for a reason, and it's not a coincidence that Scott and I did this issue together.
we just had a crisis
I just hope set up for this Crisis doesn't detract from these Tales of the Dark Multiverse books too much, I've really been looking forward to The Death of Superman one with Eradicator Lois Lane. As long as that feels like a full and complete one shot elseworlds type tale I'll be good.
I mostly stick to the non-continuity stuff anyways outside like origin retellings and the like, so hopefully the Black Label titles will be good. For everyone stuck with the 5G scheme and Infinite Crisis on Even More Infinite Crises, well, good luck.

More like we're in the middle of a crisis right now.
