IKR? If it was possible for MJ to ''Hulk Out'' I think she would've done right there ;)

Mj was great this issue although I thought the career she was going to have was start her own acting agency. But she is going to be used by Mysterio hopefully it won't be too much of a problem

Well I think she received a fright of a lifetime this issue so Mel's forgiven, lol!
Loved MJ in this issue. Felt like a really good callback to the JMS days, and a good direction forward for her!
Do I see synergy with the current reprint newspaper strip? Perhaps Marvella will be a thing in 616.

More like forgotten about LOL.
The Dodson variant for Black Cat #5 is hilarious. I'm gonna grab that one for sure. :o

Leah Williams/Carlos Gomez
Man, this is pretty awesome. MJ finally in a leading role in her own comic :D.
The cover is pretty good too, with a surprisingly gorgeous MJ by Ramos.
I don't know much about Williams, but I'm hopeful she has a good handling of MJ and her character and I'm excited to see what misadventures she gets up to on her own.

Yeah, MJ as Felicia's partner in crime would actually be kind of amusing to see happen.
The other benefit of this mini? More MJ variants!
Williams said it's a five issue mini
That makes sense. It's mainly a tie-in or expansion of what Spencer is doing, and I wasn't sure what they would do with the book past the Mysterio/Kindred stuff.
I am glad that the mini is focusing on MJ as an actress and not as a reporter/Superhero.
Even better then they will borrow Mj and return her back to Peter within 5 months
A short separation is good to know.
It is starting to feel like a supporting cast renaissance, isn't it?! Black Cat, Mary Jane Watson, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, so many of the most memorable supporting cast are getting the spotlight!
Definitely feels like a stronger point for supporting characters compared to the last decade or so.
Disappointed, but still excited (616) Mary Jane is getting a series to herself at all.
On the positive side, if the mini sells well maybe they might actually consider an MJ ongoing?

Looks like you missed Frontier's post there, Mets.

Interesting to see MJ as more than Peter's lover or Stark's girl Friday.

She's been shown that way in Spencer's ASM#25. Like MJ and Carlie pass the Bechdel test. They talk about a bunch of things, in many panels, and not once do they mention or discuss Peter and so on.

Indeed. That scene where Mary Jane gives her last words, disguised as Melanie to fool Electro, was amazingly profound and spoke volumes for and about her character, which is something I think others at Marvel have forgotten or ignored for too long.
