Hot Spot Appreciation
For those not familiar, Hot Spot was a member of the Dan Jurgens penned Teen Titans book from 1996-1998. He was the hybrid child of a human mother and a H'San Natall (the Natall a race of planet conquering aliens one of many the DCU has). He has the ability to increase the temperature of any object he touched, and he could sense heat via a kind of infrared vision.
Hot Spot appeared in the 2003 Teen Titans Animated Series.

I preferred his original name Joto but they had to change it because it was some kinda slur of some sort.

Was it? In which language? Joto supposedly means "heat" in Swahili.
Anyway, he'll always be Joto to me.

Joto also apparently is a derogatory slang for homosexuals in Spanish.

First time I ever heard of him was in the Teen Titans cartoon. I really like how he was drawn there along with his "fire mode" to bad he was never really around in the actual comics.
Maybe his death will give him a door to come back...
