He got his family back. He got to be a father again. Mutankind is not only no longer on the brink of extinction it's thriving and they've conquered death. These are not small changes these are monumental cataclysmic shifts and very big factors to change someone's personality like Cyclops who spent his entire life sacrificing his happiness for mutantkind. They have shown the readers this. You simply don't want to accept it and that's ok.
That's not it. Please, read my previous post again. I edited it to include an example.
Yes. And that's telling. The writer told me: that's who he is now. But he didn't show what changed for him. I'm supposed to just accept that going to Krakoa was such a revelation that it changed his personality so drastically? Cool. But then show me why.
EDIT: Let me give you an example. At first, he was really invested in Krakoa because it was a chance for him to live with his family, right?
Now, pre-Krakoa Scott would become even more worried, more prepared, more obssessed with protecting such a precious place to him. Where is that???
Cool, they can be resurrected now. But only if Krakoa - and the 5 in particular - is still standing. How many times was Krakoa attacked? Did we ever see him drilling any team? Does the Treehouse (that he designed) even has a training facility? He didn't show that to Lorna on the tour.
This breaks the internal logic of the character and such a break needs a *very strong*, very developed narrative reason.
I definitely get what you're saying and our mileage may just vary. I got the feeling that being with his family, finally under one roof, is what did it for him.
I enjoyed his leadership in #8 and #9 against the Brood. :)

Like I said, I'm respectful of people who are enjoying it. I'm actually envious of it.
I'm just trying to explain that it's not simply a matter of taste for me. There are actual reasons why I (and some friends) don't like the portrayal.
EDIT: And yes, it's been consistent in the Krakoa era. I'll give them that.
Hickman/Duggan/whoever were going to write whatever characters they got their hands on however they wanted regardless. There are ways to make it work and ways to be sloppy about it.
Taking a moment to gush over this panel again. Just exquisite.

Can’t be for #4 or #5 since those have a different artist solicited. Unless it was a panel for this issue and I missed it

Ah, okay. It don't think it was a panel for this issue, so it must be #6.

That's incredible. Well done.
It was such an engaging issue. The High Evolutionary shined.

I completely agree. It's all up to the reader to "buy" into the writer's depiction.
I think only Nightcrawler, Wolverine and most likely Mystique had deaths that would have left no body. Everyone else died in a manner that would have left some salvageable remains.
Wouldn’t Wolverine’s adamantium skeleton be left behind if nothing else?
