How about a story where Superman travels to Earth Prime and finds out he is a comic book character there. He finds back issues and learns all about the Crisis and the various reboots and even how he used to have red underwear! He also finds out that Batman has his own day and thinks it's bullshit he doesn't have one too!

The new leader of Intergang is a man named Tom Tanner. When he was a teenager, he escaped from juvie and road the rails for a while until he wound up, by total coincidence, in Smallville, Kansas, where everyone started mistaking him for a local boy named Clark Kent. Tanner was able to blend into the surroundings well enough to fool even Kent's parents, until they request that he use his super-powers to solve a minor household scare. Shocked and bewildered, Tanner admits that he isn't their son, but announces his intention to blackmail them into harboring him with his newfound knowledge of Clark's powers. Just then, Superboy returns from the 30th Century with his friend Sun Boy in tow. As it turns out, a robot has been hidden in pieces across the planet by teenagers of mass destruction from one thousand years in the future, and Superboy and Sun Boy gather the pieces together- but when Sun Boy activates it with malicious intent, Superboy wrecks him easily, revealing that he knew that he wasn't the real Sun Boy because he didn't do the secret super-fraternity handshake! Tanner realizes he's way out of his depth, pretends to suffer amnesia about the whole experience and runs away to Metropolis. This all took place, give or take a few details, in Adventure Comics # 290, "The Secret of the Seventh Super-Hero".
At first one of the few privy to information about meta humans and time travel, Tom Tanner grew up to become a professional criminal, always keeping a lookout for Kent's whereabouts. But now that he's a high ranking Intergang official, and the world has survived an invasion from Darkseid, from Earth 3 and the Crime Syndicate, and from various other sources in a very short amount of time, Tanner has been able to spend years secretly building up his own revival of the Anti-Superman Army, to be used as Intergang's enforcers and given training on how to use their powers. Now that it's public knowledge that Superman's powers are at an all time low, everyone knows he's Kent and there's a general low level of public opinion toward him, and also he's skipped town, Tanner decides its time to make his move to institutionalize crime across Metropolis, creating a city ruled by the super-mob!
Also, he still looks just like Clark Kent. Just because that's kind of fun.

Clark Kent, a reporter and journalist goes to some small town in Wyoming to investigate hauntings and missing people etc...he hears of a legend named the Banshee roaming around, who is the daughter of the chief of an Indian tribe...blah blah blah....basically a retelling of Silver Banshee origin.
Superman meets Ultraman, learns that Ultraman isn't weak to Kyrptonite, he tries to steal his DNA and study it.
Superman and Batman swap rogue galleries, so Superman gets all of Batman's villains and has to deal with them and vice versa.
