My question is why the heck Doom even saved things like Ultron and the zomibies. Surely someone as smart as him could come up with some way to punish people that wasn't always trying to break containment and a constant threat to everyone on the chance that they do. Having them around just strikes me as a bad idea.
What's a god without manageable consequences?

I really like this issue. I really want to know more about what Doom built.

It's not like they are a real threat to him. He has a Galactus. It probably just something to keep people focus on other things then him.

Also, no clear depiction of Namor...I assume he's the shadowy figure to the right in the top right panel on the last artwork page, but silhouette isn't quite a match

Here's a question...why is Thor so young and everyone else about the same age? Does that make any sense? If it doesn't make sense it's clearly Marvel rebooting Thor.

I think that's what the big kicker is that gets revealed in issue #4 next month- the actual origin of Battleworld

There were like 50 Thors... 616 Thor isn't even there with them. She's presumably on the life raft. BTW, good to see Beta Ray Bill in action

You might know this then, what is the release dates for all 8 issues?

I suppose I was thinking of the Thor of 616 with the missing arm.

There were multiple version of Thor Odinson in the scene where Young Thor lifted the hammer. I don't think it's evidence of that at all.

Off the top of my head, issue #3 comes out June 3. Hickman is the one that said there's a major reveal in issue #4, that's what I'm basing my assumption on

Good point. That makes sense.

So just like Convergence, I'm kind of bored by the exposition filled main story and more excited for the tie-ins to come out.
-
Also, this issue confirms that it is indeed aptly named "Secret Wars"

No one has an exact date. Even Diamond only projects out about 3 weeks at a time. This week, next week and a sneak peek at the one following that.
ComicList has a pretty accurate projection but not sure what their source is. Could be a retailer version of the dates that we might not see. You can check out their extended forecast link at the top of their HOME PAGE.
Secret Wars #3......June 3rd
Secret Wars # 4.....June 17th
Secret Wars #5.....July 1st
Nothing beyond that yet.

LOL. So basically everyone on Battleworld is a Young Earth Creationist. I think it's hilarious that God Doom (a scientist) has a minister of science who he essentially actively hinders, because the religion of Doom has to preserve the idea of him being the all powerful creator.
