Jean stole that lady's baby.

Is it too much to hope for her to take Beast down with her?
Beast might actually be the one to deliver the killing blow. LMAO
Which is why I don't understand when people get mad at John for having that type of personality. It works wonderfully with Cable's, and now they have Eden to be the one to temper their personalities. If everyone just got along and was friendly with everyone else it would make for a boring read. But where Ewin flips the script is in actually making the good guys smart and aware of the dangers surrounding them instead of blinded to the bad guys machinations. They can have their personality clashes and still be efficient. In just a few panels Ewin manages to clearly establish all three characters and how they interact with each other, heck, we only saw Eden in one panel and we know he is clearly meant to be the level headed one, Cable the strategic one, and John the hot head, without making any of them sound dumb or immature. And it also puts Nathan and John's interaction in issue 1 in a new perspective, as it is clear now that John and Nathan were already working together, which means Cable recruited him before issue 1, which explains why John was in Mars in the first place.
Well said. I love the dynamic being established between the three of them in these preview pages. Good stuff.

And save his own mangy butt in the process :(.
Agreed. Can't quite put my finger on it, whether the design has been tweaked or the colouring, but John's new costume works for me here.
Coloring and shading. Makes it look a little darker.

Yes, the design is the same, but the coloring is darker, which makes the color combo work better.

Man not even 3 issues in but MAN Ewing is writing the hell out of this book this is some top tier ish

Ok...figured they wouldn't let Cable get played like a fool like some novice..nice spice.

Pretty sure that’s Maddie. When he was a baby, he was with X-Factor, and I don’t recall Wolverine or Kurt ever interacting with him. Kurt was with Excalibur, and Wolverine was in the Outback. I’m not even sure Wolverine and Kurt were together when Maddie was around with baby Nathan at all, now that I think about it more.

They were. I forget the issue but it was right after Nathan's birth. I think Leonardi did the art. May have been when Scott and Ororo fought for leadership. Maybe early 200s of Uncanny vol 1.

Chances are the woman is meant to be Jean. Marvel has made it their mission to retroactively make it clear that Nathan is Jean's son. So unless you see a redheaded woman in a pilots outfit it's safe to assume that's Jean.

Jean was still snoozing at the bottom of Jamaica Bay at the time of Nathan's birth.

That would be total bullshit. It’s worse than when they try to say Phoenix was Jean, too, when technically it wasn’t.

Thank you! I couldn’t remember if Kurt was out of commission yet or not. I haven’t read that issue in a long time.

Kurt got taken down about a dozen issues later during the Mutant Massacre storyline.
