Hollywood Buzz is starting to go around about Magik now, with an article from "Screen Rant" to summarize Illyana's fantastically complex backstory (no mere radioactive spider bite here)

(Sorry about the repeated picture; it seemed to 'stick' from my previous post)
A bit late but god, Anya Taylor is just perfect for Yana, it is such a tragedy she probably will be play her on this movie.
Meh. I think she'd be a better Meggan, actually.

My headcanon was that once Callahan pushed that button, he “killed” the mutant known as Magik. The Resurrection Protocols operate on the basis of soul and hers was lost the moment she fully transformed into Darkchylde where she lost her sense of self and essence. She was able to be killed yet still exist in the world as something else entirely. I’m interested to know if Magik will ever have to confront this Darkchylde version of her as now she’s presumably a composite version of herself.
EDIT: wait GORM your theory’s actually sound. I like that one better.

This is a feminine message I can get behind, Some barely know she is colossus's little sister, she is overshadowing her brother right now you could not even get kitty to wed.

And is that a little Lockheed blasting the Demon Bear Cloud with blue flame? He was always too cool for Kitty anyhow.

Brisson is joined by critically acclaimed ‘Uncanny X-Men’ alum Matthew Rosenberg for the arc: “Glob, Armor, Beak, Eye-Boy, and Kid Omega and only those five take on Darkchylde.”

These clips were so amazing....really hope rumor is true she will show up in Dr Strange movie too...amazing choice for actress

Isn't this movie made for the movie market and not comics fans? What I'm saying is, this movie's Illyana will be or is the Illyana now. We could mess with what that means as far as multiple Magik's or even Magik going to see herself in a movie. But I'm kinda grieving at this celebration...and it makes me feel so, well, like Magik from the comics might.
Is that too meta of me even if it's honestly true? Or is this my version of excited?

The part where Illyana continues using Stepping Disks without pause, the color simply changing from blue to red, makes it self-evident that she didn't actually lose her powers when Callahan pushed the button
I mentioned Illyana pulling out the stops on her powers to make a point in the past. Way back in TNM v1, two issues in a row, #43&44 feature Illyana intimidating two macho bullies, Empath and the 'Jack Wayne' sub-personality of Legion. It's likely that parts of #43 were illusions from Dani, but definitely not all of it, especially Magik as Hell Lord
It seems to me that due to Illyana's childhood under Belasco, Magik seriously dislikes bullies (Empath especially), and that Callahan also triggered her dislike in a deep way
Between the Animator, S'ym, and Dark Beast, I suspect Illyana now has a zero tolerance policy of being a lab rat to be poked, prodded, or infected with techno implants of any kind, and we have the example what she did to Dank after his experiments with children
Since curing herself of T/O within seconds of first meeting Warlock, and all Limbo's demons of T/O after Inferno, I feel Magik's whole time in O.N.E. can be deduced to have been window dressing

Being a captain finally comes into play this issue.

I find it absurd to believe that Magik could manipulate General Ullyses, Project Purgatory, the Limbo Babies, all of Mutantkind, and the Elder Gods so adroitly, but be defeated by the cheap military surplus version in O.N.E.
General Ulysses and the rest of Project Purgatory were generally well-meaning but tragic figures, who earned their power at a terrible cost (specifically due to Illyana's irresponsible rule of Limbo), whereas Callahan lacked the faintest trace of gravitas
But as with both paramilitary groups, Dormammu, Belasco, S'ym&N'astirh, the Elder Gods, and many others, their pride leads to a predictable fall under the hooves and claws of the Darkchilde
(Here is Darkchilde clearly doing penance, and playing possum, before annihilating Ullyses... Deja Vu all over again...)

I was happy to see it! However, I was left confused/disappointed by her dialogue with the enemy.
I will elaborate later in the day once we pass the spoiler threshold.

I can definitely see that. I think it was all just an intimidation tactic.
