Not sure if it counts, but I was introduced to GL through John Stewart(From Justice League/Unlimited).
The Major is going to tell you no. :)
Actually, it depends.
If it was in a comic book story based on the animated series, it could count.
But if it was just in the animated series you watched, then it wouldn't apply to the thread/poll question of
Who was the first Earth-based "Green Lantern" you ever read in comic books?
You mention “no change” several times in your summary. Part of that is that the poll won't let me change my vote. I think I originally voted for John Stewart (as I said, when I first seriously got into comics, it was during the Crisis on Infinite Earths and I got introduced to Hal, John, and Guy all at once; but I think I voted for John on the technicality that he was the only one of the three who was actually in uniform at the time); so subtract one from John and add one to the original Alan Scott.
You mention “no change” several times in your summary.
"no change" means that the number of votes are still the same for that entry since the last time I published the results. It has nothing to do with whether anybody tried to alter their vote or not.
-
It does, actually. If the poll had allowed me to change my vote, then the vote totals for John Stewart and Golden Age Alan Scott would have changed.
It does, actually. If the poll had allowed me to change my vote, then the vote totals for John Stewart and Golden Age Alan Scott would have changed.
But since the polls don't allow that (at least not without divine or moderator intervention), what I mean by the choice of the wording "no change" is that there's no difference in the number / no additional votes for that choice since the previous time I had posted regarding the results.

Mine is Alan Scott. It's one of a couple reasons why he is the only Green Lantern I recognize.
-
D: I don’t know how to answer this one! The first Green Lantern I was even aware of was my man, Alan Scott. But when I started to read comics I was jumping between Alan and Hal.

It was either John or Kyle. John was the GL in the cartoons and I owned some of the tie in comics that also featured him. Kyle was also the GL in the Morrison/Waid/Kelly era of JLA comics which I also owned. I remember seeing Hal in some of the ads of the Batman comic I owned but for a comic featuring GL, it had to be one of the other two.

I was introduced to Kyle Rayner first (thanks to STAS "In Brightest Day" and Grant Morrison's JLA). John Stewart came a close second (JLU); then Hal/ Guy/ Alan joint third (Geoff Johns' Green Lantern: Rebirth)
-
Hal, I was around 7 or 8 years old, it was one of the first comics I ever owned.
-
Hal was my first GL, though it was set in a flashback story or just a back issue. I don't recall which, but I recognized him as the tan GL from the Super Friends.
