Anyone remember that mess?
Havok left Lorna at the altar for Annie.
Lorna went nuts.
Carter got weird.
And then they just ....left. Never to be seen again.
Who was the shadow person with Carter? Who was his father (Purple Man?!)

Annie returned in Liu's Astonishing X-Men.

Carter's father was supposed to be Magneto, iirc, but editorial nixxed that one.
Redacted...

What the hell?

There was a lot of wtf around that run, and Austen's push to make as many established characters as possible either abusers or abuse victims (to say nothing of his OCs) was definitely one aspect of it. Only worked with Cain, and that was already part of his backstory.
Want that mysterious telepath Elias Bogan?
Austen's run is where everyone is a moron, an abuser, or a moronic abuser.
Carter Ghazikhanian was just a poor man's Franklin Richards. Except Franklin had multiple interesting stories surrounding him in the Power Pack comics.

Tbh, I’m shocked Bogan was never again used by another writer after the conclusion of Claremont’s X-Treme run. He had MAJOR potential imo to become a bonafide X-Men Big Bad.

Most of us have tried to forget it.

I had assumed for quite some time Bogan was the Shadow King or someone he possessed, but apparently he ended up not being so. He really should make a return. And I'm also backing the idea he's Carter's father.

His telekinetic friend I think was intended to be Cassandra Nova, but it was never fully explained.

You also forgot then that Carter was getting Annie and Alex together in their dreams and giving their relationship a "push" to happen, and for all that we know could have been messing with Lorna's mind as well at that time...
