The "Flash vs Arrow" episode has a superpower of its own: the ability to make grown men feel like giddy schoolchildren.
Us, or the characters? Heh hee ha. Yeah, really was.
Anyone wondering will the Firestorm/Ronnie/Martin stuff be continued in the next episode, or the one after that?
It feels like there's another spinoff in the works. Which would be more feasible: The Atom or Firestorm?
I don't know why, but maybe it's my bias, due to being warmed to the concept, but Firestorm, I say.
You have Martin, say, sending Ronnie and Jason out week to week, with Jason having to deal with his stuff, be his own person, even if he can't. Ronnie, trying to maintain control, or seize it. Maybe rekindle things with Caitlin.
And, then, what people think of Martin, if it's positive, like Ray Palmer, negative, like Harrison Wells, or perhaps a mixture of the two.
Or, change that scenario up, and have Jason be the Cisco of the group, with him trying to keep things running at the base, or lab, trying to give advice to Martin and Ronnie, and make sure neither is eclipsed by the other, i.e. have them disappear. And, try to keep stable and happy himself, and keep that in check, alongside any remnants of a personal life.
Lot there, I think, but yeah, I think an Atom spin-off could be possible too. Anyone notice the Palmer Technologies bit in the episode? Felt nice, pointed out, that's Ray Palmer, from Arrow, same universe, look at that! Like the Wayne/Lex bit for MOS.
Also, asked my Dad this when watching, but what does everyone else think? Did Flash Vs. Arrow come off more as a The Flash episode, Arrow episode, or crossover?
He said crossover, but what do you all think? And I know one poster said Diggle was out of character, but did anyone think to themselves, are Felicity, Diggle and Oliver written and acting like they do in Arrow, or altered, to fit TF? Felt that way with Miss Smoak in Episode 4, myself.
Also, amusing to note we had Smoke and Snow together here, Felicity Smoak and Caitlin Snow.

One of the Harrison Wells theories is that he is a future Barry Allen, a little far-fetched I know. But the question is where in the current timeline is future Barry residing while he's waiting for Zoom to strike again? And why is Wells so adamant on making sure Barry becomes super strong even if it means killing those who will be a threat to him in the future? And why was Wells against continuing experiments on Grodd?

I wonder if Victor Garber (who is set to play Martin Stein in episode 12) would be willing to sign on for a whole series of FIRESTORM. I think, like Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin, his name is what would give such a series legitimacy. If that were the case, then I'd expect Danielle Panabaker to leave and join that series. If she were a series regular on FIRESTORM--yet also Killer Frost--they would have to work around that somehow. Maybe she's like Star Sapphire or the original Harlequin--she becomes the villainess but has no memor of doing so when she returns to her Caitlin Snow identity.
If Caitlin does leave THE FLASH--or goes full rogue as Killer Frost--maybe they can bring in another woman like Daphne Dean or Fiona Webb. Someone who could rival Iris for Barry's affections.

What's the story behind Fiona and Daphne? And, do you think KF should be a foe, or an ally, if not both, therein, TF, or FS?

Well Robbie Amell has said in interviews that we'd see Firestorm in action before the holiday break, so its gotta be next episode his story is continued. I am curious to see what they do with him in the longrun. Its hard to see how Firestorm could remain on the Flash show in the longterm without making it less about Flash and more just a superhero ensemble. Its not like with Arrow where you can have multiple vigilantes but Oliver's still clearly in charge of things. Firestorm is one of the most powerful DC heroes, easily as powerful in his own way as Flash, and he's not a character who could realistically play second fiddle or sidekick to Flash...especially with Barry not being that much more experienced himself. For him to stay in Central City longterm, he and Barry would have to be more like partners than anything else, and that would seriously alter the dynamic of a show called The Flash. My guess is he'll probably be a recurring guest star, maybe leave to travel the world and pursue other new metahumans who have left Central City or something.
Gustin's been great on the show, it's not the comics version of Barry and that's ok. This is is it's own thing, and there are enough nods and winks to the comics to satisfy the comic-nerd in me, while also enjoying a quality show.
Neither Barry nor Oliver is playing the traditional comic-book version of their character. The TV Arrow is Christopher Nolan's Batman with a bow and arrow; the TV Flash is Marc Webb's Spider-Man with actual superpowers.
Neither of those are complaints or insults.

Daphne Dean grew up with Barry in Fallville and then went to Hollywood to become a famous actress. She showed interest in Barry, but only for the sake of publicity. Fiona Webb was in reality Beverly Lewis who took her new name when she went in witness protection. She dated Barry after Iris died and he would have married her, if Professor Zoom hadn't ruined their wedding. The shock sent her to an insane asylum.

Don't remember Daphne Dean, but Fiona Webb is the woman who Barry Allen was engaged to after Iris' death at the hands of Professor Zoom, and it was the seminal issue #324 where Zoom taunted Barry that he was going to kill his soon-to-be bride at their wedding just like he killed Iris, leading him on a chase around the world, and Barry Allen snapped Zoom's neck saving her (and also missing the wedding- she didn't know he was the Flash).
Still one of the most powerful comics issues I remember reading as a kid. I loved that run on the Flash title.

I'm just curious to see if there are any more Amell relations getting suited up to play a DC character. ;)

As for Killer Frost--especially giveh her name--I'm used to her being a villain. I think once Caitlin turns into Killer Frost, it takes the show on that Firestorm track. And like others said, maybe that deserves its own show. They might test the waters on THE FLASH first. I don't think Danielle Panabaker and Robbie Armell want to take the chance on another TV series that doesn't pan out. But given THE FLASH has done even better in the ratings than ARROW for the CW, the network might green light a FIRESTORM series without delay.
Just saw the second part of the cross over on Arrow, and I think that's it. I'm done. I can't take it anymore. Gustin's immaturity and clownishness is just beyond obnoxious. It’s in the realm of pathetic. I could sort have dealt with his being new at the business. But it seems that his default set point is to act like a child. This is not the behaviour of a 20 something adult male. Colton Haynes as Arsenal better reflects the behaviour of a 20 something guy living in North America. It’s the kind of behaviour I myself have witnessed in my interactions with 20 something males. Not Grant Gustin’s man-child like behaviour. In fact My 16 year old niece has more maturity than Gustin’s version of Barry Allen.
I honestly don’t understand how any adult male with half a dose of self-respect can behave so buffoonish. I honestly laughed out loud when Oliver introduced him to Captain Lance and Laurel as being Bart Allen. Because that’s who I thought he is Bart Allen, Impulse. Childish, impulsive with no attempt at self control.
If this kind of thing floats you guys boat. Fine. But part of the appeal for me in reading and collecting comics for several years is not the power set of the hero or heroine. But how the character chooses to conduct him or herself. And I would prefer to watch or read a story about a someone who at least attempts to behave with some maturity, class and dignity. Than someone who is intent on behaving like child and not like a grown up. The CW version of The Flash show is an insult to one of the finest men in comic books, I hope to all that’s holy that this farcical interpretation of ‘The Flash’ never makes it into the book.
Note: Someone send me a PM when the Gustin does a cameo on ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Because that’s where he belongs.
It all depends on your definition of maturity. I consider most people as immature (not in the traditional sense), because most folks lack a sense of responsibility towards the society, and generally towards others. Sure, we all help others...more or less. But, there is a still a lot of injustice happening in this world (and a lot of folks don't seem to do anything about it).
And besides, who decided that 20 yr old have to behave in a certain way? (Too many people conform the the society's ideals. Perhaps guys like Barry are what we need in the real world).
Anyways, it's up to you, and your viewpoints.
