Didn't Wells insinuate that his run would end with everything reset and isn't his tenure ending sooner rather than later?
Course, it could hang on longer, but, also considering how his fridging Ms. Marvel is overtaking the anti-Peter/MJ subplot as the worst mistake of the series to date, the other little bits might not leave as much of an impression. (Also, Marvel's anti-MJ agenda is hardly new -- it's literally the foundation of the OMD-verse -- so, Paul doesn't exactly stand out. Heck, he's more or less Pedro 2.0, just with a more punchable face and sucking way more oxygen from the comics.)
I wouldn't trust anything they say, lots of weird motivations there. Wells has suggested he wanted to stay on through ASM50., some rumors have suggested they want to give him the rest of the year and move on early 2024. But again, I don't trust anything I hear.
The primary differnce between Paul and Pedro is origin, MJ had been dumped by Otto, you can't blame her for that. I also think it got a way more muted response due to both timing (Spencer putting them together I think really changed a lot) and frankly, Slott had been on the book so long that, like, a transparent stupid "MJ can't be with Peter" move was just mostly ignored as just another dumb Slott move.

Well only said that he wasn't doing things that would permanently change or alter the characters Not that he planned for his run to be reset when he was done

I will concede that with all the crazy crap that's been put into the run, it does seem like we can't predict anything that will happen before it's over.

Was thinking more in the meta sense (a character who's only role is to prevent Peter and MJ from being together). Will concede that there are differences in application (Slott was never interested in Peter and MJ's relationship in his run, while the tragedy porn of MJ being with someone else is the only point of Well's run), but I think that, that the end of the day, both are going to be forgotten characters long-term. Heck, Paul more or less seems to be regarded as a "dumb" Wells move through and through.

Shouldn't there have been a lettered preview out by today?

Well either he ****ed that up or I'm right about MJ's "real" motivations. Wheee.

We'll see, The legacy of Paul is going to depend on the actual nature of his and MJ's relationship. Pedro is way more significant than he initially appears. He's literally MJ'S first boyfriend to appear in the book for more than an issue since Harry (and we know that . Every relationship either of them had since OMD is also significant in the reversal of OMD. Like hey "we were married but also we were ****ing around with these other people" is a head trip and probably something that needs a reckoning when it happens

I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to keep from adding more gasoline on the fire.

Makes sense. Was hoping to see a lettered preview and see if maybe we get any MJ narration.

Anything's "walkbackable" if the Powers That Be want it to be, so that's kind of a meaningless statement (esp. in regards to a run set in a continuity based on walking something back that didn't make any internal sense).

Guess we'll see (if Marvel tries to keep him around, that will give him more impact than if he's gone when Wells is done with his story). So far as reversing OMD, at this point, I find it less likely that they'll erase the OMD-Verse timeline instead of just having the OMD-verse Peter and MJ tie the knot and leave it at that. Heck, part of the reason OMD doesn't work is that it invalidates years' worth of stories while trying to insist that they still count, so repeating that mistake, even to correct the original mistake, would be bad writing.

Mystery Box issue + The leaks are teh preview = no real preview

Obviously he knows that so in that context it suggests he's not trying to make big changes necessarily. Which is fine. It's fine to tell stories within the box of toys you have without altering them. But again, if that's the case he either already screwed it up, was lying, or this entire Mary Jane plotline is based on lies/will be altered.

There's some world where by the end of this story we all like Paul and don't mind if he sticks around as MJ's gay bestie. I don't know that that's THIS world, but it's worth a thought.
Oh there's no way they're going to do a reverse timeline thing, it's definitely another wedding issue and simply a reckoning with what they did. But from the character's point of view that kind of stuff still needs a reckoning. Knowing you DID go through with it, knowing you said the things you did about finding your way back together, knowing you broke up without the marriage, knowing you slept with other people when you were SUPPOSED to be married, knowing your spouse slept with other people when they were supposed to be married to you. There's no real world analogue, but I feel like it's something they both need to deal with on some level at that point. But of course, this is years away at least.

I was hoping they'd have a proper preview and it opens with MJ narrating. Something that hints there's more to the issue than just killing Kamala off. Maybe the early pages are too spoilery as they reveal something major.
I can only hope at this point.

I would expect more to the issue than just Kamala. Resolution to the kids, MJ revealing her real feelings, Paul being gay, something that both gives some resolution and sets up the next status. It'd be super weird if we were just in the same state after 26 as we have been for the first part of this run. But, you got what I meant when I said it's a mystery box issue. They may not want to reveal any pages because they'll give something away. Mabye we'll get a couple of fight pages but that's all I would expect until the leaks start.
finally almost time. Been a looooooong three weeks.

I just need some resolution to at least some of the story. Even a hint that MJ is in fact still very much in love with Peter, if not an outright declaration which would be so much better. Perhaps the kids show up early into the issue to join Rabin or something. I'm still staying hopeful that this entire 26 issues hasn't been a total bust, and we'll get something of substance here.
It has been the longest 3 weeks of my life. I just want it to be over and those crazy kids to go smooch some more.

I'm honestly not expecting anything until the end of the run (or near the end of the run).
That is if there isn't some kind of massive upheaval behind the scenes in which Lowe and/or Wells leave early (such things have happened before).
