"I reached out to her about writing an Emma one-shot"
Read: editorial doesn't just wait for pitches to come to them, or put needed stories up on a board and wait for writers to take them. Editorial will go out and ask specific writers to write stories starring specific characters that they want/need written.
In other words, whether or not a particular character gets something is dependent on editorial biases of which characters they think are worthy.
Is this literally the best X-Monday or what
Keep giving me my fix of mommy, JDW, and I'll stand by you until the end.
I know one of the Cuckoos showed up in the art previews for Hickman but I can't recall one for Emma.

Right. There isn't nothing espontaneous or organic on comics.
I would rather have more polaris than Emma, but here we are

I'm pretty sure it's a mix of both? Lol.
That looks like Fantomex. Maybe they are on the astral plane and not on another planet?
I think that's Mystique. Looks like a blue leg with the white flowing thing.
I like that JDW still feels like Gen X are close with Emma because that generation is always the last group of students that are acknowledged when it comes to Emma. Even with the way things ended in Counter X, I appreciate Emma Frost still having a stable relationship with her and Banshee’s class.

But editors reaching out to writers about ideas or pitches is common place, though. And I don’t think he just did it randomly, we knew that X-Men: Black was supposed to focus on the “villains” of the X-Men, so it would make sense that Emma Frost was already planned on having a one-shot. I assume the same went for all the other Black one-shots.

The main thing I wanted to focus on was what this says about how Marvel operates. I'm not questioning Emma getting something or the reasons behind it. I am, however, indirectly questioning the reasons behind why other characters don't get something too.
So is that sinister behind Emma or just a funny looking chair?
Can be Sinister
I think that's Mystique. Looks like a blue leg with the white flowing thing.
You're completely right, that does look like a blue leg with her white dress.

It isn't mystique blue, seems more like blue greenish like some kind of tree.

It looks kind of the green-ish because of the light, look at Emma's own white costume, it's tinted green.
can we just erase the time between now and the hickman launch
Had to reread it. Don't see how the Extinction Team is a Secret Brotherhood Book. That would require one of them being Toad.
Also considering his stance on couplings, the <orrison Era would look good.
