That would be an interesting JLA lineup - couldn't fail, right? ;)
You'd think.
Interestingly, it's the original JLA minus J'onzz, plus their first recruit (Green Arrow) and the '66 Batman Family (Dick Grayson & Barbara Gordon), with Wally West (who was the Post-Crisis Flash, the only one of the founders to have a legacy character pick up the mantle due to Crisis) added.
It almost looks like the ideal DC Universe is reflective of mid-80's DC Comics mixed with Superfriends and Batman '66 reruns on tv.
I'm not at all surprised by the absence of J'onn as he had just returned to the JLA right before the Detroit era after a long departure and was removed post-Flashpoint.
Even then, he's still ranked at .15, and if only counting heroes he's .12

If I wrote a comic for DC, I'd definitely find a way to use Matter Eater Lad at least once.

1 Superman (Clark Kent) 25
3 Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) 21
3 Robin/Nightwing/Agent37 (Dick Grayson) 21
5 Flash (Barry Allen) 19
5 Wonder Woman (Diana) 19
7 Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 14
8 Aquaman (Arthur/Orin) 13
8 Hawkman 13
10 Captain Marvel/Shazam! 10
10 Kid Flash/Flash (Wally West) 10
10 Martian Manhunter 10
13 Black Canary 9
13 Robin (Damian Wayne) 9
15 Supergirl (Kara) 7
16 Batgirl/Oracle (Barbara Gordon) 6

16 Robin/Red Robin (Tim Drake) 6
19 Cassandra Cain 5
19 Guy Gardner 5
19 Power Girl (Karen) 5
19 Swamp Thing 5
If not specified for characters as Flash, Green Lantern or Robin I've assigned vote to Hal,Barry and Dick, the former ones.
I'm surprised and pleased to know that Harley Quinn had only 1 nomination, although DC pushes her in every ways.
Wally West is 10th, maybe they should take him back where he belongs.
Maybe Hawkman deserves an ongoing series.

Committing to a list really makes you question whether you truly love a character, or just think aspects of them are thematically appealing. I think J'onn has an awesome powerset, image, and the rarer solo stuff I've read from him is awesome. But I don't think he frequently adds to the layers of a story arc like some of the others do. (Not that I don't think he could or that I've exhausted his quality work, it's just my impression from the numerous JLA stories and crossovers I've read). Hmm, now that I think about it though, he might be above Jay for me, as much of a Flash fan as I am. Them, Carter and Wildcat are very close for me.
EDIT: Yeah, I'm doing it. Sorry Jay.
