99.9+ per cent of all species that have existed had already vanished before humans appeared on the earth. The glaciers come and go. The continents drift, the lava erupts, the climate shifts. New species arise and replace old ones. We aren't "incompatible" with the ecosystem; we're just the latest manifestation of it.
