I always liked that Scott just wasn't cool. He's just sort of a nerd and a stick in the mud. That's just him.
If you want him to be more popular, then he simply needs to be on more big teams.
I wonder if he will sometime in the future become a uncanny avenger telling Steve to #@*"'*#!! himself at team meetings and shutting him down each time he tries to get in a word or tries to start on a speech. :p

This thread reminds me of the old "bring up all the horrible biased stuff [insert character] did" threads. Those went places. I imagine this thread will too.
I like him the way he is, he is the reason I read x books.
Yeah, don’t try to make him cool. That has fail written all over it. Cyclops is cool because he doesn’t give a crap about being cool.

he's cool because he's not cool.

He was always on big teams

How to make Cyclops cool? Have him do something interesting without blaming the interesting action on other characters or killing off better characters so that Cyclops can pout about them. I mean, that would make the character tolerable, at the least.
-
He is turning into Big Boss Cyclops in a few moths, so maybe Marvel is taking the steps to make him "cool" :p

Or character assassinate others too.

big boss?

I feel like the question poses the belief that Cyclops is "uncool" and boring. I don't feel that way. In fact, I think he's fine the way he is. His current characterization is quite flushed out and allows for interesting interactions with characters like Wolverine. I feel like respectable exposure in a movie would probably work best in improving the character's reception to a larger audience. As he currently is in the Fox films, he is the guy in the way of Wolverine uniting with Jean.

Gotta play all the games just so we can replace everything he says after the eye loss with actual Big Boss quotes.

Yeah, I have a similar suspicion as well.

Who are you talking about? Emma? Xavier? Wolverine? Bishop?
Who are you talking about? Emma? Xavier? Wolverine? Bishop?
Mostly Xavier, that was really bad stuff to make Cyclops the absolute leader. Bishop had more to do with Cable and Hope. Emma I simply don't care and I think Wolverine got out of it fine

He needs a solo adventure in a mini, introducing a recurring jobber villain that's his alone.

Snake Eater should sound in the background everytime that Scott give an speeche from now on!.
I supposed that Wi-Fi is Solid Snake in this scenario.
