Also does Bledsoe win with the supporting cast that Brady had in 2001-2006 ? I doubt it really. I mean he had Terry Glenn and that guy was a 1,000+ WR and Ben Coates , he couldn't win as much as Brady did with less.

The Patriots had to get better on offense. After the Colts lost again and again to the Patriots because the Patriots' defense got physical with the Colts the Colts got a rule change made or at least pass interference called A LOT more. So now we have every single receiver crying pass interference to try and get a call legit or not.
The tuck rule had been in place before that game with Oakland and by the rule, it was a legit call by the ref. I freely admit I HATED the tuck rule but it certainly helped the Patriots that day. That game helped cement Adam Vinatieri as quite possibly the best place kicker ever because of the important high pressure kicks he made long with those in the Super Bowls.
Not to disagree, but I thought the play in that postseason game against Oakland in 2001 that later resulted in the "Tuck Rule" helped propel the Patriots more. If that call where Brady had lost the ball hadn't been overturned, the Raiders more than likely would've won the game, and perhaps that New England dynasty might never have lifted off.
Patriots would have still been a force in the coming years. The only fallout I could see with losing that game is Bledsoe getting the starting job back. Brady either stays as a backup a while longer or gets deported elsewhere in a trade. From what I remember hearing Belichick already thought Brady looked better in camp before the season started, but couldn't or didn't want to start him over Bledsoe who had just signed a mega deal. He was also already established as the "man" in the Patriots community. Not sure if that's close to being true, as Brady was really up and down his first year as a starter.
I'll give Brady this much, perhaps no quarterback in NFL history has won more with less (on offense) than him.
Montana 1981. Well, unless you count him having Walsh as his offensive coach.
As far as roster goes though, no megastars to pass the rock to. Clark and Solomon were okay. Running game was awful.

Yeah, but who needs good players when you know the plays that the other team is running?

Cool pic of Steelers quarterbacks, old and slow Big Ben Roethlisberger and rookie Mason Rudolph.
In Eagles news that has nothing to do with a certain orange skinned, megalomaniacal nutcase of a president:
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz missed the end of the 2017 season and all of the ensuing championship run with a torn ACL. But based on the latest reports, there’s a growing feeling that Wentz will be ready for 2018’s Week 1 opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

It was a new style of offense, too. Very similar to what we have seen from Brady and Belichick, in that both are key factors to the success.
Who's the greater "system" QB - Montana or Brady?

Whose system changed more and who had the better units overall?
The WCO was so revolutionary that in its first few years people didn’t know how to defend it. Then you added Rice later and you consistently had Roger Craig in the running game. Belichick made his bones in the league trying to figure out the WCO offense and it’s still used today.
Brady’s always had an Earnhardt Perkins offense but it’s very difficult to compare what he started with to what he had in 07, to when he had the Hernandez/Gronk TE set, to what he’s been playing in since 2013/2014. He had Moss for like two real years and he was coming back from injury for one of them, he had Gronk later on but Gronk’s similarity been injured on and off and he’s won 4 Super Bowls without Moss or Gronk. Then he hasn’t really had a true premier running back since Corey Dillon.
Brady is the engine that drives the Patriots...he could have Desmond Howard at WR and win championships . Almost every WR and TE that has left New England wasn't the same player. Watson had success after he left New England but he's a rarity.
I always got the feeling that Moss was a bad fit for Brady and the Patriots. The team seems to work the best when the have workmen at the skill positions rather than superstars.
The Ravens are losing 2 OTAs for not following the rules.

Ehhhhhhhhhh when Moss got their Brady went on to be the first QB to break 50 TD’s, Moss broke Rice’s receiving TD record, the Patriots became the first team to go 16-0 and the first to go undefeated in over 30 years and were a helmet catch away from a Super Bowl win and perfect season.
2009 Brady was slowly struggling to get back on pace from his injury and then Moss threw a tantrum to leave town in 2010.

Moss wanted a pay raise and new contract. He had been part of New England for 3 seasons (2007-2009) and never realized he was expendable. I mean in that stretch he had 3,765 yards off 250 receptions and 47 TD's. So he had thought ...well I'll be 33. I have like one last big deal left for 3-4 seasons. And no way was New England gonna give him that.
Speaking of 2010 and the New England Patriots....someone uploaded the game where Cleveland had its lone bright spot. Yes folks back in 2010 the Cleveland Browns...dominated the New England Patriots . The team was led by Peyton Hillis.

The announce team brings up a few details of this Browns 2010 season...and all.
- Mike Holmgren was Team President and retained Eric Mangini at the time.
- Colt McCoy who clearly was a rookie at this point played 3 Super Bowl era teams in his debut season (a 1st as a rookie QB).
- The team lost 5 games by a TD or less. They were only blown out of 2 real games in the 2010 season.
- Now his record after 2 seasons was 10-22. Do I think he should have gotten a 3rd season ? More or less yes. Because the team seemed to be itching close with the guys they had. Colt McCoy as a rookie had a respectable rookie season as a QB where he started 8 games. It was 1,500+ passing yards 6 TD's 9 Ints and 130+ yards on the ground and a TD. Not huge numbers but something the team could have grew around.
- What happened the next year was the team made more negative steps. The team decided on a west coast offense and ditched the last system that players were growing around. This led into WR's who led the league in dropped passes. McCoy was blamed for this. Meanwhile Peyton Hillis held out wanting a better deal and wasn't the same guy in 2011. He only played in 9 games and ran for over 587 yards. A far cry from his 1,177 he put up before that.
- The team went 4-12.
