Nice trailer for WW. Still would prefer if Diana could fly.
It's too soon to assume she won't fly. I mean, based on the leaks of the plit, it said that she does gain the ability to fly.

Grain of salt, but Jenkins said in the 80 years of Wonder Woman panel apparently Warners/DC have big plans for Wonder Woman's 80th anniversary next year.

Like they should. And WW84 will most likely be released next year too. So they truly need to push the Wonder verse more.
Nice trailer.
Fully transformed Cheetah looked like a CGI model to me and didn’t really have enough ... “weight”. Maybe it was just the lighting? I hope that Wiig was fully transformed with prosthetics and makeup for at least some of her scenes as Cheetah. I really don’t want another video game cut scene final battle like in the first movie with the CGI Ares battling a mostly CGI Wonder Woman.

For all we know she flies because of the armor, or the other possibility is that she is a friendly neighborhood Wonder Woman catching lightning bolts instead of webbing skyscrapers. Hopefully there will always be lightning around if that is the case. :-)

For all we know about the plot leaks, she flies on her own eventually.
We also may watch CATS tonight
We just got done watching CATS.
Oh my God, what the hell was that.

It's going to be a typical CGI at night action scene to make the CGI look a little better. I think she already looks way better and more comics accurate than Ares though.
But yeah, hoping for some more bits where she isn't moving around where we see more of the makeup

Each trailer confirms more and more of the leaks, so odds are good.
Looks like Gadot and Pine‘s chemistry will once again be one of the big highlights. It might be a copout, but maybe they should find a way to keep him around for the third one.
I don’t know what I think about Cheeta though. Maybe they should have gone the practical effects route.
full transformed Cheetah looks good, it's not perfect
it looks like it has more weight than the spiderman from Civil War just to compare lol

Yeah, I saw it too. It's pretty floaty

I feel like the CGI third act fight is going to be the weakest part of the movie like in the first one, though Cheetah at least looks better than Ares from what I can see.

Yeah she doesn't have a moustache
So I'm guessing that shot of Max Lord campaign has him trying to mind control... someone with lightning powers... and since I don't have other suspect... it's Diana
Ares looked just like the comics & the injustice game. What did ppl expect him to look like?? Ppl arent liking the blonde hair on cheetah & i agree. No contrast to her bright fur. I see why perez never used blonde hair.

I like it. Nice use of colour and negative space, and even if it's extremely stylised, the face gives a hint of longing and aspiration.
I'm predicting this will be a "Frozen II" in that it's a sequel to a popular film that, while not widely hated, will generate a LOT of discussion due to the impact the first one made.
(Not that there aren't people who hate Frozen II, I just mean that opinions are all over the place with that film.)
This is warm Smoked Gouda on a cheddar Triscuit.

Blue Perez armor and not seeing his actor's face and mustache through the helmet would have been nice.

Altering his voice when in the armor probably would have also helped.
After seeing Cats earlier this year, I was worried about how Cheetah would turn out but she did not disappoint. I'm really excited for this movie!
Altering his voice when in the armor probably would have also helped.
Yeah that could have helped. Even so, his voice was ok for the most part. Thewlis worked really well as an unassuming mortal disguise and he could still even have voiced the character. But they needed a bigger dude to wear full Ares costume and he should have not had his face visible through the helmet. Just two red eyes.

Despite seemingly mostly positive reactions to her, I'm still seeing some unfavorable comparisons to CATS pop up. All I can say, after watching that bizarre trainwreck last night, they are far off the mark. Even if the CGI isn't perfect, she leaves that monstrosity in the dust.
At least she's supposed to be creepy and uncanny valley, but somehow cat Rebel Wilson and mice children are far more horrific.

Yeah, especially since they got pretty close in the exposition scene with Perez-like armor.
But at least they seem to be doing better with Cheetah, arguably the more important one to get right, from what's been seen.

Why? There is nothing in the trailer to suggest the third act fight will be weak.

This gives me a glimmer of hope that perhaps after seeing this movie, the general public(along with comic creators) will finally perceive Cheetah as a credible threat for Wonder Woman, Superman, & other DC powerhouses.

I'd hope so as well but the comics not doing much to follow up on the first movie's success leads me with low expectations on that front.

This does seem to be doing Cheetah the justice she's needed for years in media. They're also really emphasizing the rivalry between her and Diana, which helps sell the archenemy dynamic.
Why? There is nothing in the trailer to suggest the third act fight will be weak.
It suggests yet another CGI fight which makes it weak by default. I dislike CGI fights in general, especially when they take place at night for the obvious reason of making the CG look less noticable.

It doesn't suggest that based on what was shown. And cgi fights can be done in great ways too.
I wasn't sure I would like the "blonde" Cheetah look but it's actually pretty sexy. Still love the orange fur though....

Not a fan of this look, tbh. The face is too human, makes her look more like a vampire or a zombie. And where are the spots? I miss the red hair as well.

Yeah, that's true. After the first movie, I thought we'd see Dr. Poison given a major role in the comics and..........nothing. :(

CGI fights are almost entirely unavoidable with characters like this.
I like this look a lot but the scene is very dark and Cheetah blends with the background, you almost can’t even see her. It’s like she’s camouflaged which may or may not be by design, I'm leaning towards not. If they use the lights and the glowing lasso to good effect, it could look really cool though
I also hope Cheetah moves in bursts of speed, that seems like such an obvious thing to do. it’s a cheap and easy way to avoid shoddy CGI and makes all the sense in the world for Cheetah

She looks absolutely fierce to me, and her charging at Diana with Diana prepared for battle looks so iconic :D.
Just caught the trailer. I generally don't like the DCEU's CGI, and unfortunately, the Cheetah fight looks like more of the same. The lighting imagery they use in these movies just makes everything look fake. I'm half hyped for the movie, and so far the trailer doesn't do anything to hurt that, but it's a bit disappointing to see that they're sticking with the general CGI direction.

The spots can be spotted in the trailer: https://dceumythic.com/2020/08/23/4k-wonder-woman-1984-cheetah-trailer-shots/
Maybe the statue is based on an early design which downplayed the spots for some reason?
I agree about the face and hair. The blonde hair "blends" with the fur a little too well for me. If Cheetah is going to have hair, I'd prefer a little more contrast (although I guess it makes a certain amount of sense that her "fur" would generally be the same colour as her "hair").
I like the blonde hair because it matches with her fur. Either that or the hairless version.
The red hair stands out more, but it doesn't look like it grows from the same creature. At least if you want contrast should be black to match the spots.
The red hair stands out more, but it doesn't look like it grows from the same creature. At least if you want contrast should be black to match the spots.
Well, cheetahs don't have hair in real life, so who says its colour has to match the fur's colour? Though I also prefer the fur to be more orange or at least bright yellow, in the trailer it looks almost white.
She’s a light tan colour like her animal counterpart, nothing wrong with that as far as I’m concerned, she looks good imo. You just can’t see her very well though ’cause it’s so dark and the background doesn’t provide any contrast, that’s where the “problem” lies for me.
