Gorgeous pic! All white definitely works for Gal!

I don't know if it's just me, but even from the still photos, I've the feeling that the movie will have far better sfx than the first one. Am I the only one feeling it ?
Also, I hope that WW 84 will have more of an impact and epicness than SHAZAM! Because it was really the only thing lacking in the latter, and I want the next entry of Wonder Woman to pack a punch !

Definitely looks like the effects will be better to me. Makes sense, considering that they will no doubt have a bigger budget for this movie.
-
Well, Patty Jenkins is definitely confident about her movie. She says she wants to move the release date up after watching the first cut.

In any case, I'm not reading it as that she will push for an earlier release date, more that she can't wait to share the film. But I also guess that they won't need to do any reshoots, likely making the film go in under budget.

Who knows, maybe its SO GOOD that they will go ahead and green light Wonder Woman 3 soon and she can start production this year. Might have it out by summer of 2021

Yeah, I doubt it's even possible to move it up at this point. Still a pretty good vote of confidence, though.
-
Why can't they move it up? They pushed the film back without reason. With the fact the third movie will be set in the present. I hope this means we get Circe. I also hope Cheetah won't be a oneshot villain.
-
Honestly, I prefer them to not move the movie earlier. Just use the additional time to really polish it.
-
If they can do without reshoots, then I imagine they easily can cut a month or so from the postproduction process. On the other hand, they are on a date which they are happy with, and I imagine that other good dates earlier in spring are mostly taken by other big movies. I'm sure WB wants to avoid the fate of the poor Shazam! movie, which suffered from a poor scheduling.
-
Yeah, at this point, the best earlier spots are already taken. Better to remain where they are and use the extra time for quality control.

I think if Wonder Woman 84 knocks it out of the park and improves from the first movie, it can definitely make 500M+ domestically or at least 400M again. I hope they have way more female characters for Diana to interact with that isn't just Cheetah. For a film about a female protagonist, her origin felt very male-centric.
I want Donna and Cassie to appear! Would be so fun to see Diana interact in a mentor like way with them! Either that or I wish that the Queen went along with Diana outside of the island and they go the approach of a "family roadtrip" movie. I can't wait to see more of her powers on screen.
Speaking of Gal, I find it weird when people talk about there not being an "Asian" superhero or any major "Asian" actresses leading Hollywood Superhero movies but Gal Gadot is from Israel, a country that is considered to be part of "Asia" (West Asia to be specific) but people would get so heated if you call Gal "Asian". Even Gal's native tongue (Hebrew) is literally an Afro-Asiatic language and Asia is a diverse continent with so many native ethnic groups and the people can look like virtually anything.
Like I was taught that Africa is a diverse continent and that not everyone from there looks "black". Same with being taught that not every American or European has an English surname or blue eyes and blonde hair. So why has "Asian" become synonymous with only certain ethnic groups and no one bats an eye when we're also taught that it's a giant diverse continent?

I doubt we will see Donna or Cassie in the coming movie—we'd have heard about it by now. At most I can see Donna as a child in a side plot.
And your comment on her origin feeling male-centric shows how conditioned we are to the paternal narrative, since it pushes out the all-female village that raised her! That's part why I'm so adamant about questioning or opposing any attempt to introduce men into her backstory.

Geographic labels have very little to do with race labels. At times, you just have to accept that similar words means different things in different contexts.
Note that Gal Gadot is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, and they have been European inhabitants for close to a thousand years, maybe more.

Middle Eastern nations are rarely refereed to as Asian. The same is true for someone like Jason Momoa who is half-Hawaiian as the Polynesia triangle is part of Asia as well.
I do agree that there is something odd though how the media uses terms like Asian. Most of the time, its only used for East Asian people and it often obfuscates actors/character actual ethnic background. You would never hear an actor like Emma Watson be refereed to as a European, but Constance Wu is frequently refereed to as an Asian-American actress (She's probably ethnically Han, her family is fro Taiwan).

Good catch! That does indeed look like it could be Kirsten Wiig, though the structures on the tiara make it hard to tell.
Gorgeous image in any case! And the slogan seems very appropriate.

After checking, it seems like it's fan-made. Which is hugely impressive; the movie's marketing team should really get in touch with them: it's that good.

Unfortunately she doesnt look very natural in it, looks very posy, and it doesn really look like something Diana would wear at all. The Guardians of the Galaxy backdrop doesnt help. (Im aware though that Gal looks good in anything so in a video, she will work it.)

Well ... that new costume is certainly ... different.
It's not what I was expecting. I was expecting something more like a "golden" version of Queen Hippolyta's heavy armour (which itself was already pretty gold), with maybe a few new details specific to Diana (as opposed to Hippolyta). I didn't expect Diana to raid Black Canary's wardrobe and paint her costume gold and red.
I really hope that it looks better on screen than in this highly posed and over saturated promotional poster. In the poster, it looks like a pretty cheap, fetishist costume to me. The "fishnet stockings" texture of the pants (?) is particularly glaring. And some aspects just don't make sense - why is Diana still wearing leather hand-wraps when she's pretty damn near invulnerable and in an almost completely new costume (apart from the gauntlets). The brown leather is out of place against the ... gold plastic / leather and red armour.
EDIT: Looking at the costume blown-up, I realise that it's not a "fishnet stockings" texture / pattern. Instead, it looks like scaled / raised armour and the lighting / saturated colours is just making it look like fishnet stockings. So, the pants should look better in live action.
And I do miss the tiara, but I expect that is missing because Diana wears some kind of armoured helmet / head covering with this costume.
The heightened / exaggerated "boob plate" armour is also disappointing. They can still suggest a feminine form, without encasing each individual breast in its own armour (and providing an easy way for a sword to be plunged straight through the middle of Diana's chest). The Lady Sif costume from the MCU manages this well.
It also looks plain uncomfortable. I'm guessing that Diana has no choice in donning this new armour to defeat some new foe, but the "hardened" diaper / panties area and "armoured / solid" torso (which is designed to appear to be a single "solid" piece) looks like it would be difficult to move in if we're expected to believe that it is metallic (as opposed to painted plastic / fabric), even if it is a "magical" metal which moves like fabric. Even for Gal Gadot, it doesn't look like a very comfortable costume to wear (not that the Superman, Batman, etc costumes are comfortable for the actors, but still).
I'm really disappointed that the alternate costume isn't more akin to this: https://dcextendeduniverse.fandom.com/wiki/File:Hippolyta_poster.jpg
https://dcextendeduniverse.fandom.com/wiki/File:Hippolyta_on_beach.jpg
Or this: https://dcextendeduniverse.fandom.com/wiki/File:Hippolyta_looks.jpg
Ideally, WITH the eagle cloak designed for DoJ: https://dcextendeduniverse.fandom.com/wiki/File:Justice_League_Portraits_-_Hippolyta.jpg
Still, it's nice that Diana is covered from neck to toe. And ... that she's given a unique colour scheme amongst the DC heroes (other than Captain Atom, Captain Marvel / Shazam and maybe a couple of others).
But, that's about all the nice things I can say. It's particularly disappointing that the torso doesn't appear to include any of her classic iconography, whether a "WW" or an "eagle". Maybe the shoulder pads are suggestive of the eagle's wings and that is lost because of the over the shoulder hairstyle?
EDIT: Again, looking at a blown-up version of the costume, I can see the eagle's (small) head, so her iconography is still there. Although, it's not as obvious / prominent as I would like (e.g. I can't imagine many Superman or Batman costumes where the "S" and some form of a "bat" symbol aren't crystal clear).
It's just so strange. MCU launches Captain Marvel with an awesome, practical costume. And DC responds with this sexy gold robot costume for their premier female superhero.
-
Maybe it looks so armored because it's a response to Cheetah?
-
This one looks great.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D8MDYSeXsAEmv2W?format=jpg&name=small
About the armor. I'm not interested in any new suit. I want to see a more powerful Diana on her own. One thing i don't like about DCEU and Rebirth is how dependent on gear she is. Do you think there is hope we will see better feats of her actual powers in the sequel, or will it be all about the gear again?
-
The new armor looks ridiculous, but I kind of love it. I'm weird.
-
Diana has always wore special armor depending on the enemy. Why should this be any different?

The electric neon W lightning background isn't helping. Though really add some Grecian elements with a cape and helmet, make it more like the Golden Eagle armor and it could work.

84 is much better than that, but not as good as the Golden Eagle armor which as over the top as it is, still looks majestic and fits the iconography.
