Gawd, bring back the days when the TMNT actually used their weapons and Michelangelo wasn't an idiot/comedy relief.
Did some rereading of the last few chapters of Gosu.
Man, I love Ubok. He's one of my favourites in the entire series, and qualifies one of its best Hidden Badasses™. It's easy to forget just how damn powerful he is, with that life-draining technique and a grip that puts the hurting on anyone in the series, even the top guys who laugh off crazy powerful hits.
Dude is humble, decent, and gutsy, to boot.
not good. looks like one of the old guard of the hi-shin unit isn't gonna make it. :(

This is really going to the Fast and the Furious route, huh?

Stories where the stakes aren't high...are limited in their drama.
One doesn't need to go all G.R.R. 'I Kill Characters Because It Is A Grim World!' Martin, but unless character death is a real possibility, things can lose their oomph after a time. <-- I feel this is somewhat important for long series like manga and such.

I'd watch it for Michelle Yeoh, frankly. ^_^

Heck to the yes on agreement. XD

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the most recent iteration of the franchise, takes the view that the Turtles are just starting out so they aren't actually all that skilled yet which works well.
It also has great animation fairly consistently and really good choreography when it needs to.
It is also hilarious. Michelangelo isn't dumb, he's more a sensitive artist figure. Leo is more cocksure and arrogant, Raphael is the see facto leader but isn't the smartest and struggles with the responsibility of leadership. Donnie is a hilarious materialistic tech nerd.
It's a good take on the brand I think.
The wrestling episode alone is worth watching in isolation because it is brilliant and hilarious.

also Tony Jaa
So.
I found out about the follow up Baki-dou series.
From the Itagaki that brought you "everyone jobs to a samurai," comes the new series concept "everyone jobs to a sumo guy,"
I can only surmise that Itagaki has been reading Hinomaru no Zumo and thought he'd get in on that.
That said, the body horror of what happened to Oliva was amazing and horrendous.
But yeah, full job squad engage.
