Which character is Best Girl?
Ardelyn or Avelyn. Hard to call.

The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer Edit: as I note Nik already has stated! :) Hoshi no Samidare.
I find it interesting that different translations make it either The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer or Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. The one I first read was the former, so that's how I think of it.
Edit: Apparently it's also Wakusei no Samidare! Confusion reigns....

Corim would vote for Tasha.
Mostly due to pre-existing beef with Avelyn and he doesn't know Ardelyn that well.

Bias is fun. ^_^
Corim also has different standards than 99.99% of the populace, who would (rightly) view Tasha as an explosively violent, mentally challenged, homicidal maniac. Say that three times fast! ^_^
...on testing, that's not exactly a tongue twister, so I guess you could. Or just sum it up with the word I like to use, which is 'monster'.

Those of an inhuman nature need to stick together!

Would be an interesting lens with which to view the world, Corim's. Not one with which I would be comfortable, but interesting.

Hm. You can probably have the most fun with Ardy, if tearing it up at a bar or tavern is your idea of fun. Anything quiet she would get restless after a while and need to doing something else. Though, I suppose it depends on what the criteria for best girl are.

Definitely what needs to be clarified!
Now Sharker has me reading The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer again (I guess after this I might go back and do my every-three-year pilgrimage into Angel Densetsu?).
I had forgotten how the central character goes from being incredibly weak to tremendously powerful by the end...and in a 'realistic' manner.

Hey, Sharp called it by it's acronym, surely that's clue enough! :P

I really liked how the powers worked. They all kind of start off with the same basic ability: creating a blob of psychic energy. How each of them manifests and creatively utilizes the functions is pretty clever, and manages to be surprisingly diverse in visual representation, despite the simple design (golems aside).
I also liked the animal companion dynamics to go along with the quirky characters. Weirdly, the series almost reminds me of Fruits Basket, if Fruits Basket had been re-imagined as a Shonen.

...I think I have to, now. It's on my mind. ^_^

They're very interesting and clever. Highly enjoyable.
And they're the least interesting thing in the series, for me (and yes, the least interesting thing is still 'highly enjoyable'). Why? Because of the characters themselves, who are the most interesting things. ^_^
Also, there's none of that 'highly talented normal can weather supernatural attacks' in Biscuit Hammer. Main character gets attacked by supernaturally powerful enemy. Main character's thoughts: 'If it hits my head, it'll split like a watermelon. If it hits my body, my organs will rupture like water balloons. Arm or leg...will cripple me so badly I won't avoid a second hit. Basically, if it hits me once, I'm finished.'
Later on, we get into supernaturally augmented fighting stuff, but that's different.

It eventually does stride the line a bit for me, with that whole "anime peak human can do things that would shatter a normal human's body", so they still feel a bit "metahuman" to me, but yeah, they're a LOT more reserved compared to most manga about it. Early on though, you're right on how weak he is. It's refreshing that the main character is really just a guy, and has to rely on tactics like "trick the golem to jump off a cliff, because I can't even scratch the thing." Most other manga, I feel like they'd make a point to show off he had some special hidden talent and blow away the first few enemies.
[spoil]The Dog Knight gets killed with one punch to the head by a comparatively weak golem, despite his "genius martial artist" abilities. You really wouldn't expect that in a manga like this.[/spoil]
