Maybe?
I didn't like Firefly, but I DID watch it, and basically in the series the things people pointed at as evidence of psychic powers...weren't. In the movie, she gets some vague precog at one point, but that's about it.
Yeah, same, I don't recall any sort of outright psychic abilities in the series. She just had, like, a super-data processing brain or something?
The thing with poison storylines is I've never really seen them work in actually killing heroes.
It was definitely distinctive to watch. I don't think I'd seen anything in quite that type of style before on screen at least

That's fun, and some of the better-looking knife fighting I've seen. Less big swipes, lots of small cuts, avoidance rather than attempts to block, feinting, that kind of thing. And footwork.
The Karambit, the movement, all of that really screams Silat (like, Kuntao or Serak), as does a lot of the footwork. Occasionally get 'President's Choice: Hint of FMA' from it as well.
Similarly the empty hands stuff. The low stances, the elbows in and use of them, the attempts to snag the foot, testing shots...feels like Kuntao or Serak, with a little Filipino mano mano or the like.
I'll grant, I'm not familiar with all of the various styles of FMA or Silat (there are...a LOT of Silat styles), but I'm somewhat familiar at least with the taste of Kuntao and Serak, having trained with a guy who was practicing those in the past and seen some of the instructional stuff, and this certainly has a big taste of that.
Then at ~4:30 with the big flurries of successful attacks, maaaan, that looks like some classic Silat.
Good stuff. Thanks for that, I'm going to see if I have this on my Netflix.

Pretty much - every instance that people liked to call out as psychic stuff was her reading evidence to come to conclusions and passing it off as mind-reading to scare someone or memorizing locations and shooting at said locations blindly and perfectly, etc.

One Piece: Interesting developments.
[spoil]There's a mysterious other party running around sabotaging stuff, making the seraphim attack everyone on sight with orders that override the Vegapunk satellites. Potentially one of the Vegapunk's is behind this.
And now Luffy and Zoro have to team up with Lucci and Kaku. They have very appropriate reactions to this stupid but maybe necessary action. The disgusted face will never not be freaking hilarious.[/spoil]

Jojolands Chapter 1

All for this, the story behind the Tetris rights are fascinating(highly recommend watching the Videogame Historian's youtube vid about it) and it even has a happy ending

So, Toyotaro's next arc is going to be an adaptation of Super Hero. Joy.

And just as I finish the re-read, Souboutei Kowasu Beshi comes to a close.
What an absolute hoot of a series. Tightly focused, constant escalation without feeling too busy, enjoyable characters and really dynamic and fun art.
Had an absolute blast with it.
I am probably now going to reread all of Karakuri Circus that I can lay my hands on, even though the scans aren't complete, just to get another fix of Fujita's work.
Or maybe finally get around to reading Ushio and Tora as I never finished it way back when.

Quantumania was more fun than Multiverse of Madness and Love & Thunder. It has its flaws, but the three generations of the shrinking family and Kang were all solid (Kang especially for me, props to the actor).

Going to say, again, kudos to Nik for putting together his RPG system. As non-dice PBP scratch-built systems go, it's the best I've seen, and I've seen a lot. Mostly balanced, still open to a lot of interpretation with flexibility for character creation and growth, and really nails things down in a way that should limit subjective bias.
Great stuff. ^_^
Game looks good as well, even though we're just starting.
And there's a great group of characters, to boot. ^_^

Very kind of you to say. It's been a lot of fun and I've learnt a lot about game design from building it so I'm glad people are finding the system enjoyable to work with. Even though it's quite a bit more complicated than other Rumbles RPG systems.
Now we just need to get through the first combat encounter (when we get there) and I'll stop feeling so nervous. While I've done extensive playtesting and I think combat is fun, the way it will feel when it's a bunch of players working together is something that's a fair bit harder to predict.
Also, nail down levelling up ¬_¬

Agree with Sharp you can definitely tell there was a lot of thought out into it. Stuff like not going by affinity for additional techniques will prove pretty crucial with time I think.

Huh, so Pochita is practically as evil as Makima; neat. Also, How? How did you somehow make Denji dumber than he is in canon?! It's impossible, I tells ya! Impossible!
God help us when they parody Power.
