That is a bit easier to do in comics vs live action it seems.
Batman and Supes at least have the, "he wont kill!" aspect protecting the overmatched Joker and Lex... Aquaman doesn't have such qualms.
Which is why they added a new dimension to Arthur and Manta's relationship, namely [SPOIL]Arthur's guilt over not saving Manta's father when he could have. Arthur won't kill that villain because of it, at least until Manta does something that is equivalent to make them even I suppose[/SPOIL].
I figure Kingpin was Meta in this timeline. I remember the ultimate comics version tanking a bunch of full force punches and kicks from Ultimate Spider-man, and still beating the hell out of him when they first fought.
Even in the regular universe they've fought hand to hand. I remember an issue of one Spidey's books back in the 80s when Kingpin ripped one of those spiraling metal staircases loose...either because Spidey was on it or he used it to try to hit him lol.

In the "Back in Black" story leading up to OMD, Peter curb stomped Kingpin and said that all the other instances of Kingpin besting him was Peter holding back.

I never liked that story. It did a lot of unnecessary damage to Kingpin's image and propped Peter up with a win he didn't need. It was better before when it was left ambiguous how Kingpin could keep up with supers like Spidey and Hobgoblin. Once it was cemented that he actually couldn't, it not only made Peter look like a putz for all those years of holding back, it even diminished guys like Osborn for not just killing Fisk and taking over his turf. Writers should NEVER give definitive answers for "who would win if" scenarios. It doesn't do any service to the story and only feeds anal retentive rumble obsessives who can't look past stats and feats.

I didn't feel like Arthur's shame over leaving Papa Manta to his fate was an impediment to how he dealt with Manta. (I mean, he still cinderblocked Manta with his own gear and left him to drown.) I think Arthur was just ashamed that his earlier arrogance led to a fight that could have been avoided entirely if he'd been more willing to show mercy, even to people who didn't deserve it.

Hasn't it been stated that killing or deposing Fisk would lead to a power vacuum that would cause far more damage to New York than if he stayed in power?

Mainly in the PS4 game I'm playing. Comic-wise, Fisk has been unseated at least five times with no lasting damage done. Marvel editorial needs to get serious about showing those consequences.
snip
I mean I put that in spoiler quotes cause there are still people who haven't seen it who PROBABLY wouldn't want to suddenly be spoiled since they're not in the official Aquaman thread. I don't mean to be funny but that's kind of a problem with this particular thread and I'm not exactly sure why.

Someone did a mash up of Jordan Peele's Us trailer with footage from the Proud Family movie.

So over in Champions, [SPOIL] it seems Miles may have made a deal with Mephisto.[/SPOIL]

The first 90's Punisher mini series directly dealt with this.
Punisher "kills" the Kingpin early on in it ( he only got a body double but only Frank knew that) as a result the rest of the mob bosses ( who thought KP was really dead) were in open warfare with innocents caught in the crossfire.
When all the dust cleared Kingpin was even stronger than he had been since his rivals had all just killed each other.
After that Frank (mostly) stopped going after Kingpin.

Huh.
So this version isn't a pseudo game show like the original was?
That's probably for the best. I admit to never quite getting the original. I wonder if this version is meant to be educational also.
I always thought that bit was cool.

Carmen goes from being an amoral criminal mastermind and the head of her own syndicate to another generic antihero loner with an attitude. Like, who are these people who revise old properties by making them unrecognizable, and how do they keep getting work? With the exception of Voltron and She-Ra, most of these shows look like complete dumpster fires. TNMT, Thundercats, Reboot, etc.
But, speaking of a revival that ISN'T terrible, Young Justice S3 so far has been pretty fun. Surprisingly gorey too.

Sometimes I think the people who make these revivals assume that kids are stupid.
"Kids won't be able to relate to a thief, cause stealing is wrong, so we'll make her into a Robin Hood type who steals from criminals instead of regular people."
I also think that some of these shows aren't really for kids, so much as they're for their 30-Something hipster parents.
