I don't want him to look weedy - hated the way he was drawn in AvX: Consequences although I loved the writing. I was all: sooo losing the PF also turned him into a 5'8" little skinny guy why exactly when he was six two and had the body of an Olympic gymnast before...?
I think I just really dig Cyke's feline qualities, so when Wolvie or Cap are bristling at him in their big beefy canine way, I like the fact he's just quietly twitching his invisible tail and strategizing how to put them on their asses without breaking a sweat.
Agree completely about how WRONG he was drawn in AvX:Consequences which was a shame since I really enjoyed the story.
Oh don't get me wrong, I love X-Factor. I have crazy love for it and for swoonyass Scott Summers. The plot is that the O5 reform - because Magneto's running the School and they don't trust him - and pretend to be mutant hunters but are actually mutant saviours, so it's got a great team vibe and some really good stories. Cyke's basically one long nervous breakdown throughout most of the first arc, but the great thing about it is that the guy who can't coordinate telling Jean he's married or doing something decisive about his crashed and burned marriage can strategize on missions like Napoleon Bonaparte. He's very sympathetic in it, he's just a complete emotional wreck - even more than he usually is. And he practically gives everyone around him a nervous breakdown as well. And they're being manipulated and mind screwed by an evil guy, but I loved a ton of it. Loved Ship and the kids they rescued, and the family vibe. They're very loving towards one another and really touchy-feely which I love. Gimme all of that in all the books and I'm happy.

Yes, this was the only way that Hank could hold Cyke safely.
There's a great story where Cyke goes back to Alaska to try to find Maddie and the cop whose come to arrest him ends up petting him sympathetically because he keeps risking his life for others even when they're trying to arrest him and he's just so goshdarned noble.

I mean - let's just say there's a good reason why people who hate Scott Summers hate, hate, hate that version of X-Factor. He's a heroic ball of very pretty manpain throughout. Just on no account start a drinking game while reading X-Factor where you have to take a shot every time Cyke says 'This is all my fault!' or you will end up without a liver.
Hank's great in it too, he has some good development, as does Warren, inevitably, because it's where Apocalypse happened to Warren and turned him into Archangel. (Still think if he'd just put out for his school chum that whole mess could have been averted.)
Gotto admit even though I don't think I'd like Cyclops of that era I'd die to see his friends being protective and compassionated toward him instead of wanting to spit on his face for a change. Who's the writer's pet during that era btw? I know it wasn't Scott because no way the writer wanted him to go anywhere with that drama queen attitude (it made the character interesting but sure as hell it wouldn't make him popular).
Yeah, Havok take that. Anyways I hope, No More Humans, turns out to be really good. For $25 it better, but I also hope it features a lot of Cyke.
I hope so. I'll wait to read some reviews to decide whether I'd get it or not.
Some JeanClops:
I freely admit that Jean's spine would have to be made of rubber for her to achieve this pose, that Cyke looks like Ben Affleck on steroids, and that it an enduring mystery how he managed to get those huge bulging muscles everywhere while spending weeks near death of fever being tended to by the kindly Achmed, but it's still a pic of Jean comforting him after she deApocalypsed him, which is a moving moment between them:

Well here's the thing : She DIDN'T Deapocalypse him ! At least not completely. Had she actually deapocalypsed him, things would have been a whole lot different hand he would never have been with Emma ! The remnants of Apocalypse inside him led to the whole shebang of him going all "dark" and them breaking up and resulting in what happened at the end of AvX.
If there is something that might have actually De-Apocalypsed him, it's the Phoenix Force in AvX. But the guy is still a shell of his former self and not the hero he used to be. And THAT is why not the 616 Jean, but the darker, more "complete" O5 Jean finds him attractive at this point in his life.

I'll be there when Cyke is there.

You guys forgot to include one of the best Scott/Jean moments since they were married. The whole scene in the Theatre and outside, in the issue right after the Onslaught aftermath one where Alex attacked Scott and Storm in the plane.
That one showed how well they got along as a married couple.

Nope, sorry :(. But the Issue I remember was a completely non-action issue. Where everyone was dealing with the aftermath of the Onslaught attack. Scott went alone to the theatre while brooding over being attacked by his own brother ( as usual Havoc went insane and made his own Brotherhood and assaulted Scott and Ororo on a flight back home ). Then Jean arrives after that and that's where it starts.
It really is a moment that the Cyke-Jean bashers would hate to read about lol.
But on the other hand, I do believe that Cyke-Jean is really done for good. They won't be killing Logan anytime soon. When 616 Jean returns, Logan-Jean will be the new status quo. O5 Cyke got the hots for Laura, that will open a whole new triangle between him, Laura and Warren. And Adult Cyke may or may not be married to Emma in a possible alternate future.

It's interesting here on the forum that so many lovers of Scott hate Jean and how many lovers of Jean hate Scott. I think they're soul mates and perfect for each other. A few cosmic and temporal hiccups won't keep them apart forever.

That is hilarious. I feel your pain, Scott. I hate 3D as well.

I know the feeling.
I put in my contacts and watch 2 or 3 3D movies a year... but they're never really worth it to me.

That sounds sweet. It's funny people seem to remember all the anger and misery but forget the happiness. It's also sad that for all the 'wrong' that happened to them there're so many 'right' moments that got overlooked.

If the real Jean ever come back just to be with Logan then she'd rather not come back at all.

I've seen a lot of the latter but not the former. Scott's fans don't come across as haters, to me at least. It's ridiculous really to see while Jean's and Emma's fans are hating on Scott his fans don't seem to mind to post pictures of him with either of them and comment on how sweet/sexy/beautiful they are.
-
From some of the posts I've read on the forums. Some Emma fans are pissed because they feel Cyke overshadowed her, and she was nothing more than arm candy. Imo, the two had a good dynamic, but I guess one can say a lot of the stories revolved around Cyke more.
As for Jean, I don't know why they would hate Cyke for being with her, if its the psychic affair I guess I'll give them that. I will always blame the phoenix for not liking the relationship. It overshadowed both characters.
-
Perhaps it was just a vocal pro-Cyclops/anti-Jean [& Emma] minority I've encountered in my short time here. The vitriol coming Scott's way from some people in the Jean appreciation thread, though... Damn. Unnecessary, I think.
I'm glad that Cyclops is getting his time to shine. I'm just sad that 616 Jean isn't here to share it with him.
-
They're just pissed Scott got the last laugh, really. It's totally fine for [insert name of x-character] to troll/back-stab Scott, but One-Eye has the nerve to retaliate, oh noes, he's the scum of the Earth.
It's cute.
