I'll believe the "signed on for four more sequels" thing when I see it, though of course I hope it's true.
In fairness, WW had to wait a long time before even getting her first, while Superman had several before her.
Looking at the DCEU in isolation though, yeah, I agree that it majorly sucks on the Superman front. And Wonder Woman at least has one good movie, which in some ways is better than having a bunch that suck.
I'm not gonna take a YouTube video at face value without some kind of outside source verifying it. That having been said, Marvel puts out something like three movies a year. There's no reason they can't do a BOP movie and another Superman movie. Remember when Behind the Trailers said that WW84 was a soft reboot? No word from any other source on that.

If Affleck is out I’d wager Cavill is too at this point. They want to reboot those two.

Actually the video didn't say Henry Cavill would be in four sequels. Just make an appearance in four movies. One of them being the Supergirl movie. The only one that would be the sequel is Man of Steel 2.
Probably the other two are Shazam! and/or a Justice League 2 and someone else's movie, like maybe Suicide Squad 2 or Flash. Maybe a Man of Steel 3 if we are lucky.

Ben Affleck was a good Batman and I'm sad to learn he will no longer be in the DC Extended Universe. While I'm not a big Batman fan, I still enjoyed Ben's performance and I believe Ben was prevented from enjoying a full life as the newest actor to portray Batman. With this announcement, Ben has joined the list of actors that have been fired from famous roles over backstage drama, including Andrew Garfield and Chris Pine. Hopefully, Henry Cavill will reach an agreement with the Warner higher-ups and get a chance to play Superman again.

I just saw that this morning. I wonder if this means a soft reboot of the DCEU or even just ditching a shared universe altogether. Do we know if Reeves Batman is supposed to be the younger version of the Affleck Batman or it's own thing? I kind of wondered if the stand alone Joker movie wasn't some backdoor way of creating a second universe from scratch so they could ditch the DCEU.

The Batman is another origin movie. So young Bruce. First adventures as Batman.
I would imagine they could keep Affleck as exclusive to the JL movies. But that's me being optimistic. Affleck is contracted for 4 movies. He's only done 3 so far.

No to both. WB is simply not mandating that directors adhere to Snyder’s stuff. If they want to contradict what he did they are free to do so. However they’re not making a second universe and they’re not rebooting the DCEU, not with Aquaman and WW being successes. What will happen is that they will simply retcon out stuff from Snyder’s films they don’t like. Assuming they ever do another Superman movie they will probably recast the character and treat the new version similar to how Ruffalo’s Hulk is technically Norton’s Hulk, but pretty much all of the plot lines from Norton’s Hulk were ignored.
-
I hope we see Superman in the Super Pets movie. Even just a little.

Or even keep Henry Cavill and just ignore some of the events in the Snyder movies. Like the idea that Supergirl came to Earth a thousand years ago.

"When Warners was courting Gunn, the studio gave him his pick of properties, including Superman. DC Super Pets will be hitting screens on May 21, 2021. The lineup of super pets is set to include Batman’s dog, Ace the Bat-Hound; Superman’s dog, Krypto; and Supergirl’s car, Streaky.

I'm genuinely kind of excited about the Super Pets movie. I hope it has heart and it's not as sarcastic as the Teen Titans Go movie. I think the tone of the Toy Story movies would work best. So action-adventure plus heart.
I also like watching Superman and the JL getting some screen time in the trailers for the Lego movie 2. It's good exposure for the characters and that's good.

I thought Superman was shelved? If Gunn had picked Supes would they go with new casting or try to get Cavhill back?
It’s my understanding it would be at the discreation of the creative team, they have someone in mind to pin a script already

Some of the stuff I’m reading conflicts with one another. Some people claim everything is on hold, nothing is happening with Superman right now and that they’re just going to give Cavill the Routh treatment. The guy you quoted says they’re not against making a Superman film and in fact are still asking directors if they’re interested.

Well, from my understanding Supes isn't a priority for wb right now. There is no script in the works yet, or a director interested in the project. It could take months or more before they start writing a script.

That I understand but there is a difference between “WB isn’t even bothering to ask people anymore and have no intention of moving forward at all” vs. “WB is asking directors if they’re interested but so far no one has bitten”. How come they haven’t asked JA Bayonra yet? He seems willing, last I checked he was pretty open about wanting to make a Supes movie.

I guess the bold is an exaggeration. In both case there's no real movement on a superman movie.

I have accepted that Henry Cavill and Amy Adams won't reprise their roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Justice League was the last movie. To hope for anything in the future is futile, because it's Warner Brothers we are talking about.
I'm grateful we at least got MoS and BvS: DoJUE fully realized by one visionary. There was a time we had nothing at all since 2006, so I'm more of "better this, than nothing" kind of person here. I'll take what I can get. It's a real world and *hit happens.

He may never don the cape and shield again, but Henry is still Superman in his heart and ours.
I assume that's his Witcher hair, but I wonder how he'd look as Long Haired 90s Superman. Wouldn't that be a nice trade-off, we finally get another Cavill solo but it's the Super Mullet and a third of the way through he becomes Electric Blue Superman.

Superman's outfit is the same color as my uniform pants. A very blue-collar color of blue.

Henry is a great actor and I hope gets a chance to play Superman again, but for now, it's not looking good. I believe he really has the necessary elements for Superman, but the disaster area that is Warner's management is what's keeping another Superman movie from entering production. The most frustrating part about this is the radio silence Warner is keeping about the fate of the Superman movie series. I don't know how hard it would be for Warner to say something like this: "We understand that Superman has some of the most passionate and devoted fans a superhero could ever ask for. The idea that Superman is getting pushed to the sidelines in favor of other characters is ridiculous considering it is only thanks to Superman that we have an entire universe full of superheroes that we can enjoy and appreciate. We appreciate the support from our fans and we ask for patience and understanding as we work towards developing a plan to bring Superman to big screen once again."
I don't know about you but I think a statement along those lines would help Warner earn some goodwill and bring back disenfranchised fans. Does it automatically fix everything? No, of course not, but at least it would give the impression that Warner hasn't completely forgotten about Superman. Warner has to play their cards right if they want to satisfy their remaining fans, and regain those fans who might be willing to come back. This won't be an easy task but if done right, we'll be getting another Superman movie sooner rather than later.

There is no logical reason why Superman needs to be muscular. What possible weights would be heavy enough that would build muscles for Superman? But Superman is a fantasy character that boys can project themselves onto.
Just like how comic book women have huge breasts because guys like to fantasize about getting it on with a woman with huge breasts.

You could always make up some baloney rationale like Kryptonian men are naturally sturdier than Terrans and the average guy looks like a decathlete, and solar radiation optimizes their physique. Or, maybe Kryptonian scientists bred/engineered their population to look the way they do. It's all pseudoscience, anyway.

Mario is hit and miss. But Daniel is still trustworthy. After the Shazam incident, there was a brief exchange on twitter with the director Sandberg, he called Daniel his mortal enemy or something. lol. Brief story... the trailer was supposed to come out, but that Daniel guy wrote a description of it and posted even pics of a few scenes and WB and Sandberg decided to delay the trailer to recut a new one.

Depends how it's done, but it'd be more effective to see his face and some words of encouragement and support to Billy. "Well done, Billy. I'll be around if you need something." The end.
