Nolan North was a solid Hal.

Ngl this was my favorite part of Identity Crisis.
Yeah, King had him commit suicide. Surprise. It seems to be King’s go to move.
glad i didn't checked it. not really my favorite topic to read on.
I immediately thought of Emerald Dawn #1 when I saw this. MD Bright I think?
"let's be honest, i don't know what happened to my hair. do you?"
I wonder why Hal barely showed up on that show. We saw characters like Firestorm a whole bunch of times, even someone like Space Cabbie appeared relatively often, while Hal showed up in what, 3 episodes? And he had a more substantial role in just one? I liked the revolving roster aspect of the show, but I feel Hal was once again underutilized.

That, and why he was drawn looking like Kyle.
Really underutilized.

I didn't mind the design. I thought they probably wanted to make Hal look a bit more ethnically ambiguous since he's a Jewish guy from California.

I don't think it was a deliberate snubbing, and at least when they did use Hal they used him well.
I think aside from the Trinity they wanted to focus mostly on a bit more obscure heroes and concepts.

He doesn't really look like Kyle apart from the black hair. That jawline is unmistakably Hal. But yeah, agreed he was underutilized.
That face though :p.
I'm picking up a Parallax vibe from the neck up.

The creators did a much better job on the endeavor with Hal during the Superfriends era, imo.
Hal was the one I identified more with as a kid. It was tough to taking Black Vulcan series with the bare legs.

I don't remember seeing this in Identity Crisis. The art looks good.
