Her fight scene/power display don’t look bad. It’s still the typical lighting but they stepped up.

So how much dialogue do y'all think she'll have -- as much as Halle in X-3 or the same as Shipp's last performance? What about her close friendship with Jean? do you think that will be explored, or will it be mostly about Jean and Scott and Xavier, Mystique [spoil] before her early death [/spoil] and Magneto?

cute. but considering apocalypse was needed for her to become "storn" I will still pass. this cute showing is a little too late for me. so ready to get the foxmen and all of its convoluted storylines behind us .

This looks like an improvement, but honestly, this is what she should have been doing from the start. I'm also worried that this might be her only "moment" throughout the whole movie. :(

I don't like how small her lighting is, it looks weird seeing little bolts protruding from her fingers especially destroying a...rock?
Where is this from?

Well, this doesn’t look Bad. In fact that’s pretty cool, however we need something else other than Lightning.
But this is cool though. I’m willing to bet this is the ONLY cool Scene Storm has in the entire movie. Placing Bets Now starting at $50

Likewise, the TAS costume doesn’t work in all black. I’d like to see both costumes in the MCU.
i'd love a mini this year, at least a one shot.

me too my friend. we are getting her in the fearless mini in a couple of months alongside captain marvel and invisible woman.
it's from your fav movie franchise to drop next month!!!
The sooner this movie comes and goes the sooner we can get on with our lives! Shipp does not fool me about her role as Storm. I'm not expecting much and my feelings have not changed.
Same. I just want this to be over. It’s time to move on. I also hate how Disney is promoting this. Makes me think they’ll use this same cast.
I remember a four part in the 80's with She Hulk, Wasp and Tigra. The Aladin effect. It was quite naïve but cute!
I recall ALADDIN EFFECT as a Graphic Novel which usually meant some mature content (was the format exempt from Comics Code authority?). The story was told from an innocent girls perspective and was fanciful by nature but it also gave us a full frontal nude image of Ororo in goddess mode and a crisis setup similar to something you might see on The Walking Dead.
And speaking of Storm’s original costume cast in all white, Greg Laroque, in a rare bit of work for Marvel, really made it work.

Re: Storm’s solo publishing history...
I’d say it’s fair to view Claremont and John Windsor-Smith’s LIFEDEATH I, II and “ADASTRA IN AFRICA” (JWS only) as an approximate Solo Ororo Trilogy - light on action, heavy on character.

According to spoilers I've read, Storm does have more impressive power stunts (including things she hasn't done in the previous films), but unfortunately she doesn't have much dialogue (kinda like X-Men 1 and Apocalypse).

Interesting team up. While I still prefer the look in black, I feel like the way the all white costume is presented here is much better than when they tried it in more modern times.

When was that modern instance, I’m blanking on that suit having a resurgence...
They all went white with a black cape for the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends cartoon. Having a spot of gold in her tiara added a nice balance.

That's the one. And seeing Bianchi's version of it makes me cringe. Everything from the boots to the Beetlejuice stripes to the banquet-style tablecloth cape was just terrible! Thank the Bright Lady it did not last long.

*SIGH* Another Lightning Show.........
[
the xmen are getting reboot. I'm out and done yall its been real.
I knew they would have her strike first against Jean. Because she's so in love with Mystique in this universe. Ugh. The sooner the MCU restarts the character the better. I hate how they always release these Fox-Men movies around my bday. I will not be seeing this in theaters.
As for Bianchi's costume, that first character sketch was over-designed, and I hate the stripes and double boots, but there is something about the overall design that I love and Bianchi nailed it in this cover, for example, which is one of my all time favorite Storm images.

And beyond the costume itself, Bianchi just clearly loves Ororo as a physical presence.

That said, it was a bit over done initially and I loved Jimenez's toned down version too. Cockrum's original and these two modern variations really hone in on her as a gorgeous African goddess, which I love and I don't like when that core aspect of the character is lost in many other adaptations. It can be a little cheesecake and a little exoticizing when not done well, but when done well, we get a self-possessed African woman exuding power and grace, very much in the vein of the ancient fertility/nature goddess archetype she has always been cast in.

I just read that article about Hickman, and how they are cancelling everything and starting over. I don't know how much of a reboot we are talking, but honestly, the franchise has been garbage since Quesada threw them under the bus with No More Mutants. I don't know what exactly Hickman has in mind for changes, and how the franchise will move forward afterwards, but this could be the third great restart the franchise has been waiting for. Len/Dave/Chris changed the game with Giant Sized, and that made the franchise bloom to it's greatest heights. Morrison came later and gave the franchise another big shakeup, whose influence is still felt strongly in the modern books(of course with diminishing returns as it was in Claremont's wake in the later 90's). Here's hoping Storm gets a prominent spot in the new era, but I guess we'll see how it all shakes out.
As one of my favourites, I love Storm, dearly. But I also love the X-Men in general and over all.
So...
Whether or not Storm has a prominent role I am here for HiX-Man's Reboot/Relaunch/Whatever goodness!!!

Hearing that news I just hope Storm is shown as a confident, prominent and powerful Goddess of the X-Men. I will not pass judgement so I will wait and see and cross my fingers that Storm is going to be great in this Reboot.
"No More Background for Storm" - says Scarlet Witch.....Make it happen Hickman.

Bianchi's design was... uh, look, I get what he was going for and appreciate the effort, but it doesn't look like something a human being could wear, even by superhero standards (which are pretty low). Amusingly, if you follow Phil Jimenez' evolution of it, he seemed like he was drawing the same costume when it fact it was basically Dave Cockrum's original design but in white.

Storm wasn't part of Morrison's relaunch, which while I loved Claremont's X-Treme, Storm really did miss out by not being a part of the Morrison squad(though I am thankful Claremont intercepted her just to keep Morrison from making Ororo and Scott have the affair instead of Emma. That would have been straight trash.), and the Whedon Astonishing that spun off of it. Storm was completely a side character in the modern X-Men era, excepting rare and brief runs, and that combined with the film and cartoon adaptations really destroyed her fanbase of late. She really needs a push. Even if Hickman doesn't use her much, I am hoping the MCU does, and then maybe we can just get a Storm solo franchise off the ground. If she's not in visionary leader mode with the X-Men, shaping them to her worldview, then she's being wasted, and I just don't see the current crop of writers focusing on her over Xavier, Scott, Jean, Logan, and Magnus, so maybe it is for the best that she starts to vector off on her own.

I’m hoping for the same as well....we’ve only seen her in the first promo so maybe they are saving her for a later preview.....idk I’m just nervous her role within the Xmen is going to diminish even more so thn it already has
There will be a slew of X-books post HoX and PoX so...anything's possible.
