I can see Jean listening to Tevin Campbell.
For those that clearly don’t know... Jean Grae is an underground NYC rapper. Growing up she was a fan of the X-Men animated series but her favorite has always been Jean Grey. I remember reading many years ago an article about her where she says that Jean stood out to her the most because she is a survivor amongst other things and she can identify to that.
Lol I also thought it was just coincidence. Cool that her name is actually inspired by our Jean. She wrote the little Jean story with Deadpool on last year's X-Men Christmas Special.

Yeah but that story effin’ sucked.
Also one of the Jean Grey solo issues was inspired by one of Jean Grae’s album cover. I forget the number of thevissue but it was back when Marvel was doing their Hop-Hop tribute variants. Jean Grae is a huge Jean Grey fan which is also why she wrote that short story starring Jean Grey for the X-Men Christmas issue.

Yeah I remember that cover. I thought the X-Office was just being cheeky by inviting "Jean Grae" to write Jean's story lool. Looking now it should have been obvious that she's a fan...

Much more forgivable from a celebrity fan than a professional writer though.
Jean, especially the animated series version, does kind of represent everything stereotypically bland and uncool about white America. Obviously it's not impossible for people from other backgrounds to see through that and appreciate the more substantive aspects of her character, it's just somewhat less likely is all.
You do realize the XMen have a huge international fan base, so be definition most of their fans are not white Americans?
She’s superpowers, which no one is in real life, can bring herself back from the dead, becomes the Phoenix, and a whole host of things that have nothing to do with her race. I’m not white and I love her.
Don’t speak for other people or project your own issues from other people.
There are a few bad photos of another Jean figure from SDCC. I think she is on the same box as Cyclops, some people say Wolverine will be there but I haven't seen him.
I wish Jean tried the pony tail, just to see how a modern interpretation would look.

Isn't that a second Jean head in the pic with a ponytail?
So, with the 6 new titles being revealed as X-Men, X-Force, New Mutants, Excalibur, Marauders and Fallen Angels, I think we can safely assume Jean will be on X-Men, written by Hickman. Praying she has a new costume(or is back to another old one besides THAT...).

Yeah, I think it is safe she will be on whatever is the main book, I want a new costume or at least give back the one from Red.
They just made it available for preorder on the Hasbro website, and yes, it's a 3-pack. It'll probably be available on other sites if you have a preferred store. Sorry about all the white space that's in the images.

God NO. As outdated as that skirt costume is, it’s still 100x better than the abomination that is the bulky, ugly colored, pancake pans for shoulders mess that is her Red costume. Ugh
Jean fans settling for mediocre is why we cant have nice things.
